When You Called Me Over That Day (Kirito x Sinon)

Chapter 9

~~Kazuto's POV~~

          I froze.                 

Why is she at my house?!

          I didn't say anything. It felt so awkward.

"So can we come in, Kazuto?"

          I looked at Shino and gave my most welcoming welcome with my horrible forced smile. It was so bad even my eyes were twitching from how much I wanted to not do this.

"Please, come in."

"Thanks Kazuto!"

          Shino walked by me and went to sit on the sofa.

          Asuna didn't come in though. She stood at the door, looking down at the floor mat.

          I didn't say anything. I just waited at the door. I didn't want to invite her in again.

          Shino was just sitting on the sofa, she turned on the television and started switching through the channels.

          I wanted to go and sit with Shino and talk to her. But I couldn't just leave Asuna at the door so I said:

"You coming in or not?"

          She looked up at me.

"If you're not going to come in, I'll just close the door on you."

          Usually I wouldn't say something cold like that, but I was still frustrated about what happened.

"Yes... th-thank you."

          She walked in with her head facing the floor. Asuna then joined Shino on the sofa and kept quiet.

"Do any of you want something to drink?"

          Shino asked for orange juice and Asuna asked for some tea. I too felt like some tea, so I grabbed 2 cups. I made the tea, and took the orange juice and put it on a tray with the 2 cups. I set it down on the coffee table.

          I pulled out a wooden chair with a cushion on top and sat on it.

"So why are you both here all of a sudden? Did you need something?"

          Asuna kept looking down but Shino started talking.

"Oh, we just came to hangout, you know?"

          I tilted my head.

"You don't sound very convincing..."

"Ahhhhh, I mean, we came here for a reason, but we also came to hangout."

Why isn't Asuna saying anything?

"Sure... So what do you want to talk about?"

"Uhh..."

This is too awkward. Nor me or Shino can start a conversation. I'm not sure what her reason is for that but I just don't feel like talking because Asuna is in the same room as us.

          After a few tries, me and Shino finally got a conversation going. I finally got to hear her cute laugh. I was pretty happy at the time but Asuna interrupted our fun conversation.

"U-um, Ka-Kazuto."

          Me and Shino looked at her.

"Yes? What is it?"

"I actually have to tell you something..."

          The room went silent again as we waited for what Asuna had to say next.
