When You Called Me Over That Day (Kirito x Sinon)

Chapter 7

~~Shino's POV~~

          Kazuto ran off.

I hope he'll be okay. That must have been a pain.

          I looked at Asuna. She didn't do anything. She didn't try to stop him. She didn't shout for him to come back. Nothing. She stood there watching Kazuto as he ran away.

"Hey, Asuna! It's okay. Maybe he's just feeling unwell."

          Asuna turned to me.

*sniff* *sniff*

          She was crying.

Why is she crying? Wouldn't what Kazuto did be a normal thing to do after being dumped? I mean, he's still heart broken. I'm not sure what she expects.

I give her a hug and tell her that he'll talk to her soon.

*sniff* *sniff*

She wouldn't stop crying.

Was she really that sad about what just happened?

I pat her on the back and brought her to a nearby bench. We sat there for a while until she stopped crying.

After we stopped, we started heading to the cafe. We didn't say anything to each other. She still looked kinda sad though. Hopefully she gets better soon.

~~ 5 minutes later ~~

We reached the cafe. The outside was filled with plants everywhere and gave off an industrial vibe. We went inside and it felt quite cozy.

I should bring Kazuto here sometime.

We went to the counter and looked at the drinks we could buy. I bought a double espresso and Asuna bought a latte.

We both went to the corner of the shop, next to a window.

The whole time we were walking here and when we went to take our seats at this cozy corner, I kept wondering why she cried so much. If she was sad about the breakup, then why did she break up with him in the first place?

I gotta ask at some point. Ahhh, why did both of them have to meet then? It would have been so much easier. But no matter what, I just need to know.

The double espresso and the latte came and I took a sip. I looked at Asuna and she was just staring at her latte.

I striked up a conversation.

"So Asuna, have you been online on ALO lately?"

She looked surprised.

"Uhh, no, not at all actually. I haven't had the time to log in."

"I see."

The air around us became silent again.

I looked out the window.

"Why did you even break up with Kazuto?"

She looked at me even more surprised.

"Ho-how did yo-you k-know?

"Huh?"

Oh wait, did I say that out loud? I keep doing this. AH!

"Um-m."

Shoot, I can't say anything.

Then she said:

"I-it was a mistake. I regret it. A lot."

My eyes widened.

What... did she... say?
