When You Called Me Over That Day (Kirito x Sinon)

Chapter 6

~~Shino's POV~~

          A few minutes later, I opened the door and went outside. The sky was clear and bright. I walked down the stairs to walk to the convenience store I was supposed to meet Asuna at.

          It took about 1 minute to get there. I turned the corner and I saw Asuna. She was wearing a white, long sleeve shirt. She was wearing a skirt and was wearing white sneakers.

"Hey Asuna!"

          She looked to her left to find me running up to her. She looked a little bit shocked.

"Oh, hey Shino!"

"Sorry to keep you waiting."

"It's fine, I just got here."

          We talked for a while and we finally decided to start heading to our destination, the cafe. We started to walk away from the store but as we did that, right in front of us, at the worst time ever, Kazuto walked out of the store. Kazuto was holding 2 bags of groceries. He was also wearing the same thing he did when he left my house.

~~Kazuto's POV~~

          I was at the counter of the convenience store next to Shino's house. I bought a magazine about the latest VRRPGMMO. I put the magazine in my bag but realized I wanted to read it on the way back home because I couldn't wait to see the new updates for GGO. I walked out of the store head down, looking at the magazine and suddenly heard a person call out to me.

"Kazuto! Hey, what's up?!"

         I froze. My eyes widened and I couldn't lift my head.

I know that voice. This person's voice has been stuck in my head all night. I couldn't be. I must be hearing things.

          I keep my head down. My eyes trying to concentrate on what's on the magazine. I turned left and started walking.

          I was then pulled back from my right shoulder. I couldn't move.

          I lift my head up very slowly. My eyes started to dry. I was so scared that I forgot to blink.

          The one person I didn't want to see, was behind me now. Her warm hands on my shoulder, holding on to it tight. Sweat started to take over my face.

If I look back... will I see...

          I was suddenly spun around to face that person.

          There she was, right in front of me, was Asuna. I couldn't think of anything. I didn't know what to say. My eyes stared into hers.

          Asuna was holding both my shoulders. She tilted her head to the right in confusion.

"Hello? Kazuto? Hey."

          I didn't want to talk to her. NOT NOW! I can't stop thinking about her and here I am, right in front of her.

          I was about to start crying, but I heard another voice. It was Shino's voice. I could hear her. She was shouting at me.

"Oi, Kazuto! Stop dreaming!"

          I came back to my senses. I pushed Asuna's hands away from my shoulder. I looked down to the floor, avoiding eye contact with her.

"H-hey, As-Asuna."

"Oh, Kazuto, you're finally awake."

How did she say that like nothing before happened? How can she talk to me like NOTHING HAPPENED?!

          I couldn't stand being around her anymore. I was still sad and angry about what happened.

          I looked at Shino and gave her a smile. Then I flipped my hoodie over my head and ran off. Running away from my problems. I ran as fast as I could, not looking back. Not even once.
