Chapter 18

~~Kazuto's POV~~

"Are we there yet?"

"Yep, here we are!"

"..."

          I stared at the big building.

"Kazuto, why do you look disappointed?"

"Hah! No! It's just... I didn't expect you to bring me to a mall..."

          She narrowed her eyes, staring into my eyes.

"Are you saying that I brought you to a place that's bad?"

"What? No, let's just go in."

          We walked into the mall. I followed her into an arcade place. It was one of the biggest arcade places I've ever seen! The entrance was huge. The entrance was 5 stores long, and that's a lot.

          We walked into the arcade.

"So, what do you want to do first Kazuto? You wanna grab a bite or do you want to play some games?"

          I was overwhelmed by how many games there were in this place.

"Let's play some games first."

          We went over to the coin machine and bought some coins. The coin used for the arcade had a bear on it. I bought 20 coins for each of us.

"Here's your coins Shino."

"Thanks."

          After I gave her the coins, she grabbed my hand and pulled me over to an arcade game.

"You wanna play this?"

"Yea yea."

          The game she brought me to was a 2 player shooter. The whole game is about the players trying to save their best friend, Premiere, from the evil virus that's turning everyone into zombies. The players have to reach the top of the building before Premiere becomes a zombie. Each player starts off with 3 lives and the players have to make it to the top before 5 minutes is up. If you die, the timer keeps on going, but you will respawn on the same level you died.

          Me and Shino played a round. Shino was going all out. The zombies were gone in seconds because of Shino's accurate headshots. We were halfway through the game in the first 20 seconds.

Woah, she's amazing at this game.

          I didn't really do anything the whole time.

          We finished the game, well... Shino did, but I was her partner so I gained some credit.

[ Team name ]

          We got to put a team name.

"What should we put, Shino?"

"How about 'Kinon'?"

"Oh, our in-game names together?"

"Yea."

"Sounds good."

[ Kinon ]

          After Shino put in the name. After that, the screen showed our team ranking.

[ Kinon ] -Time: 1 minute 36 seconds- -Rank: #1-

"Woah, Kazuto! We got first!"

"Yea, we di-"

          Shino suddenly hugged me. I hugged her back.

"Good job, Shino."

          We let go of each other and both of us smiled at one another.
