Chapter 26

~~Shino's POV~~

          I was deep in my sleep when I felt a force poking me on my arm. I open my eyes to find Kazuto next to me, smiling a bright smile. His smile made me smile. I rubbed my eyes and stretched my arms up to the max. I looked around the classroom. The teacher was gone. There were 2 papers on my desk. One of the papers was a maths paper with 20 questions on it that I didn't understand, and the other paper was a paper saying 'Detention this Saturday'.

"Detention?"

"Yea, we got caught for sleeping in class."

          I was surprised when he said 'we' and not 'you'.

"You slept too?"

"Yea. Seeing you sleep made me sleepy too."

          He rubbed his eyes.

Wait, he saw me while I was sleeping?

          I looked away from him, facing the window that showed me the view of the garden outside, I was blushing. He didn't say anything. I heard chairs being moved and I got curious so I looked back at the direction where Kazuto was. Everyone was leaving the class.

"Well, time for the next lesson."

"What do we have next?"

"Hmm... not sure, let's just follow our classmates."

          He got up from his chair and pushed it under his table. I did the same. As the last person left the classroom, I got a glimpse of what book they were holding. They were holding a science book. I told Kazuto and we both followed behind our classmates.

          As me and Kazuto were walking out of the classroom, we were stopped by Asuna. She started hugging his hand. I didn't want to do it in school. Everyone would think I'm up to something. Asuna started talking a lot and I just kept quiet the whole time. Every time Asuna stopped talking for a second or two, Kazuto would try his best to talk to me but he was always cut off by Asuna talking louder than him so I couldn't hear what he was saying.

          The walk to the science lab wasn't very far, but I still got annoyed by how much Asuna was talking to him. I got jealous and I started tugging on his sleeve. He looked at me but I didn't look back. I held on to his sleeve the whole way to the science lab without Asuna noticing.

          He didn't budge. He let me hold on. He looked back at Asuna, listening to what she had to say.

          We finally reached the science lab. 3 of us walked in and took a seat. Kazuto was in the middle, Asuna was on his right and I was on his left. Asuna kept on holding Kazuto. I sat down and looked in front of the class, watching as our classmates flowed into the room, filling the chair's seat up.

          The teacher walked in.

"Hey everyone. We will be doing an experiment. It will be in groups of 3."

          He started counting how many people were in the class.

"Oh! Perfect! There are already 7 groups here with no extra students. Where you are sitting now, that will be your group for the rest of the term."

Wait... I'm stuck with Asuna for the rest of the term?!

          I looked at Kazuto. I couldn't tell whether he was happy or sad or angry or anything. He looked like all of those emotions smashed together.

Well... at least I get to be with Kazuto.

          I looked at Asuna and she gave me a cold hard stare.

This is not going to end well.
