What happens when you fall in love with someone you're not supposed to? Everything about it is so wrong, but so right. The secrets, the sex, the love...all worth it. But to what extent?
After school, I said bye to y/n so she could hang out with her friends. I decided to go to Aiden's place to see the baby. I left my classroom and started walking towards my car when I saw Headmaster Lee.
"Ah, Mr. Kim!" he waved at me. "Just the man I wanted to see."
"Me, sir?" I asked.
"Yes, would you mind coming in my office for a quick minute?"
I nodded and followed Headmaster Lee into his office, and he shut the door behind us. I haven't had a meeting with him since he wanted to talk to me about y/n. I was afraid that he somehow found out about us. I crossed my hands onto my lap and he looked intently at me.
"Mr. Kim, I'm not sure why but...I feel comfortable talking to you about y/n. Your class is the only one she seems to attend so there's something right about you."
I let out a breath and relaxed into the chair. I nervously rubbed the back of my head and smiled. "I just teach normally, sir."
"Well I was wondering if I could talk to you about something, concerning her. You're close to her age, maybe you'll understand more about how kids are these days."
I nodded my head.
"So not too long ago I actually went over to her house. It was the weekend before we got back from spring break, actually. I had dinner with her and her mom and it ended with me getting kicked out by her."
This was the first I was hearing of this. Y/n never told me that her dad came over. I'm sure there was a good reason for it. "Why did she kick you out?"
"I offered her a check for ten thousand dollars to help her while she's in college."
"Oh, wow. That's very generous of you."
"Yeah but because of that, she kicked me out of the house. I thought all hope was lost, I didn't know what else to do to try and get her to forgive me at least a little. But then," he smiled. "Her mom called me the next morning and told me that y/n said thank you." He chuckled. "She said thank you, Mr. Kim. Even though it wasn't direct she still said it."
"Well that's progress sir, and I'm happy for you."
"But what confuses me is why she suddenly changed her mind. From what her mom tells me, she's pretty hardheaded and really only listens to reason to change her mind. She also told me that y/n hung out with Jimin after I left. I think maybe he changed her mind."
Y/n called Jimin instead of me, huh. I guess years of friendship with him will over take a couple months of a relationship with her. But I kind of understood coming from her point of view. Jimin knows a lot more about her situation with her dad, even though he doesn't know who he is. I know who her dad is and I think it might have been hard for her to talk about him to me.
"So since you see her everyday and you see the two of them during detention," he continued. "I was wondering if there is anything going on between the two of them?"
I held back my laughter seeing as the person his daughter is involved with is me, and Jimin is simply just a friend. "I personally think they're just really good friends."
"Hmm, I guess if I want to be a part of her life I should try and be nice to her friends. Even though they're all troublemakers."
"If I may be honest, headmaster." I paused. "I watch your daughter every weekend in detention and her friends have made an effect on her just as much as she has to them."
"How so?"
"She's helped them with their homework and she has friends. I feel like besides Jimin, she hasn't had friends in a long time."
Headmaster Lee frowned. "Yeah, her mom told me that when I left back when she was still a kid, her whole personality changed and it cost her to have friends. I feel like it's my fault."
"All you can do now is be happy that her life right now is turning out good. If she ever decides to fully let you back in her life, you need to be supportive. Remember not to force it or you'll just be pushing her away more."
"Thanks, Mr. Kim." he sighed out in relief. "If I'm being honest, I'm kind of glad that y/n and Jimin are just friends. I know I wasn't there for her for most of her life but I'm still her father, and I don't know how I would react if I find out she has a boyfriend."
I found this the perfect opportunity to advise him to be okay when he finds out about her relationship, especially if it's with me. "She's a woman now, headmaster. Once she lets you into her life more, that's when you need to start trusting her that she will make the right decisions. So when it comes to a guy she starts dating, she would want you to be supportive."
"Supportive," he repeated back. "You're right. This is all so new to me, it's nice hearing it from someone who understands her." He extended his hand out and I shook it. "That is all, Mr. Kim. Have a good rest of your day."
"You too, Headmaster." I stood up and walked out of the office. I let out a deep sigh, partly glad that was over.
I headed towards my car and walked by the basketball court where y/n was as always with her friends. She turned her head and saw me walking, smiling at me. I winked at her and continued to my car.
I had to grab some food before heading over to Aiden and Rachel's house so I went to the grocery store. I grabbed some food to cook for them and I stood in line to check out. I looked through my phone to pass the time. I was suddenly interrupted by a voice that I didn't think I would ever hear again.
"Hi, Jin."
I slowly turned around and it was like I've seen a ghost.
"J-Jenny."
