"I can't believe we're here on the morning of prom." Jimin whined.
"Oh please, it's not like you would need all day to get ready." I said putting my feet on the table. "I'm the one that needs all day to get ready."
Jimin slumped in his seat and pouted. Here we are in detention, the morning of prom because our teachers gave our usual group detention. Ever since they heard that Jin has been giving me detention, some of them have been brave enough to give me detention now. Looks like being the daughter of the headmaster is losing its power.
Speaking of my dad, I haven't seen him since he was at my house and he left in a hurry, like something was troubling him. Usually he would make an effort to try and call me into his office, and I would refuse, but he hasn't done that since then. He even hasn't talked to my mom since then, and they talk to each other every week. At first I thought maybe it was nothing but when I think about the night I last saw him, there's definitely something going on that he's avoiding me.
"Miss Y/n." Jin called from across the classroom snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Maybe you would like to help carry all of these boxes into the gym?" He asked pointing to a stack of boxes that was left by student council so we had something to do during detention. "Since today is prom you guys don't have to do your homework. But you can bring these to the gym and start setting up."
I groaned out and stood up. I looked behind me and noticed that none of the guys were standing up. "Aren't they going to help?"
"Nope." Jin said and picked up a box. "This will get done faster if we do these one person at a time. I feel like if all of you are together, this won't get done. So let's go."
I sighed out and walked out of the room with Jin following close behind.
"Hey," Jin said quietly and I turned around. "Are you okay? You seem pretty out of it today."
"I'm okay, I guess. There's just a lot of my mind. My dad has been MIA and I'm here instead of being home getting ready for prom."
We reached the gym and put the boxes down while being greeted by the student council students also preparing the gym. So Jin and I wouldn't raise suspicion, we stayed a respectable distance from each other but not too far that we couldn't hear each other.
"That's why I didn't give you detention this week. I figured you wanted to spend today getting ready than being here." Jin said.
"Well the other teachers are following in your path. They're slowly starting to not care that I'm the headmaster's daughter." I grabbed some posters out of the box and Jin helped me hang them up.
He softly chuckled. "I'm sorry about that. To be honest, I thought I would be the only one to give you detention, I never thought the other teachers wold actually be brave enough to do it." He leaned his head in so he could talk quietly. "Besides, I want to make sure my girlfriend has all the time she needs."
I blushed at his comment and smiled. "Then maybe you can let us out early today? Like lunch time early?"
He smiled at me. "Anything for you."
"Good morning!" We both jumped at the sudden greeting and turned our heads back. My dad just entered the gym, I'm guessing to check on how things are going. He scanned the room when he suddenly spotted me and Jin. I noticed a slight glare in his eyes but it suddenly turned soft and he smiled walking in our direction.
I cleared my throat. "Be cool." I said to Jin under my breath.
"Good morning, Headmaster Lee." Jin bowed his head.
