I came out of my room and my mom couldn't help but cry. She took me into her arms and held me close.
"My little girl is so beautiful!" she squealed out.
I laughed and lightly pushed her arms off as she was constricting my airways. "Thanks mom."
The dress I ultimately decided on was a light pink sleeveless dress that flowed down to my ankles. I lightly curled my hair and pinned it to one side.
"Jimin should be here soon." I said looking at the time on my phone. "You and Ms.Park are having dinner together?"
"Yeah. Since she'll be here to take photos I figured why not." My mom grabbed my hand and led me to the couch. I sat down and she sat next to me. She fixed a loose strand hanging on my face and smiled. "If I'm being honest, I didn't think you would be going to prom. I'm really happy you decided to go."
I exhaled through my nose and smiled. "I didn't think I would either. So many things have changed these last few months and I'm really enjoying it."
"I noticed. Granted you're still skipping classes, but your whole presence just seems lighter -- happier. These friends of yours are really changing your life."
Thinking about the guys that have become very close to me tugged on my heartstrings. It's always going to be me and Jimin, but the others became a part of my life that I never want to get rid of. They're my family.
The doorbell rang and we both stood up to answer the door. Jimin walked in wearing a matching colored suit vest with a black jacket and tie. His mom followed behind and both of our moms greeted each other.
Jimin's mouth slightly dropped as he looked at me. "Y/n...I know I saw you in this dress not too long ago but you look amazing."
I giggled. "Thanks, Jimin."
Jimin held a box containing a pink rose corsage and boutonniere and white ribbons sticking out. We took them out of the boxes and our moms took pictures of us putting them on each other. After many poses and pictures, we finally said bye to them and headed to prom.
Jimin wanted to get a limo so everyone could ride together, but I said no simply because it was tacky and a waste of money. I was perfectly fine riding to prom in Jimin's car.
"Are you excited for tonight?" Jimin asked.
"I am! If this were months ago, I wouldn't even care about prom. Right now we would be in my room having a movie marathon."
He chuckled and adjusted his mirror. "Either way I would be happy just spending time with you."
I smiled and put my hand on his arm. "So everyone else will be meeting us at the gym?"
"No, they're going to meet us in the courtyard."
I nodded my head. We all decided to go together as a group but the guys ended up getting dates who were surprisingly okay with being part of a group with me. I never had any type of group date with other girls before so this will either be really fun or really awkward.
When we got to school, Jimin ran around to my side of the car and helped me get out. I linked my arm with him and we walked to the courtyard where we were greeted by everyone else. Yoongi and Taehyung wore matching emerald green suit vests and black jackets. Jungkook, Hoseok, and Namjoon all matched their colors to the colors of their dates' dress. They had their dates linked in arms with them as the girls nervously greeted me. I smiled and greeted them, hoping to make them feel at more ease.
"Y/n, you look gorgeous." Jungkook said nervously biting his lip. His date looked at him with sad eyes and slightly pouted.
I noticed and walked up to Jungkook. "Thanks, Kookie. But don't forget," I grabbed his chin and turned his head to face his date. "There is a beautiful girl you came here with." When she noticed that I stuck up for her, her face lit up and she mouthed 'thank you' to me.
