Jin POV

"Jin? Hello? You okay?"

"I got it, honey." I heard a loud slap knocking me out of my daze.

I looked at Aiden and Rachel who were both sitting in front of me, concerned for me. I showed up late to their house and since I've been here I've been zoning out a lot.

"You okay, man? You seem pretty out of it right now." Aiden said handing me a drink.

Rachel held her newborn in her arms and sat down on the couch. I sighed out and ran my fingers through my hair. I looked down and mumbled, "I ran into Jennie."

"What?!" Aiden gasped. "You haven't seen her since...you know. The incident."

"Yup. I ran into her at the store and we ended up talking about some stuff."

"What happened?"

I looked at Jenny, still shocked of seeing her after all of these years. Our relationship ending was definitely a dramatic one, considering I almost beat her dad to death on the night of our wedding. She forgave me for that night but she made it clear that she wants nothing to do with me anymore. I'm a lot better than before but seeing her is bringing up memories that don't help.

"Are you going to say anything or are you just going to keep staring?" she asked bringing me out from my thoughts.

I cleared my throat. "I-I'm sorry." I slightly smiled at her. "Hi, Jenny. How are you? It's...It's been a while."

"Yeah." she smiled and put her hands on her shopping cart. "Maybe we should pay for our things and sit somewhere to talk."

I looked behind her and saw the line of customers waiting for me to pay for my things. I looked at the cashier and apologized, then paid for my stuff. I walked over to the coffee shop in the store and ordered a cup of coffee and a chai latte. I sat down at a table and waited for Jenny.

I felt my blood pressure start to rise and it was combining with the memories of anger I had. I took out my pills and drank it before Jenny could see.

She walked over with her cart and sat across from me. "I see you still remember the drink I get. Thank you."

"Um..no problem."

The atmosphere was filled with an awkward silence. I sat there, still in shock of seeing Jenny. She crossed her hands on the table and looked at me with a nervous smile. I looked down and noticed the wedding ring on her left ring finger.

"So," Jenny said breaking the silence and I looked up at her. "How are you?"

"I've been okay." I nervously said. "Great, actually. I'm a teacher now."

"That's great! You've always wanted to be a teacher."

"And how are you?" I looked down at her finger again. "I see you're married now."

She nervously sighed out and played with her ring. "Yeah, for two years now."

"I'm happy for you." I said actually meaning it. "I'm sure finding someone after me was easy."

She chuckled making light of the situation. "What about you? Is there someone in your life?"

I thought about y/n and I couldn't help but smile. "There is. It's still fairly new but there's something different about her. I can't explain it...but she's very special to me."
