It was the day

The day of the test,

The test that was supposed to show me where I truly belong, who I really was

The test that would change my life

I never really felt like home in Amity

We were always kind, sweet, peaceful

And that's what bothered me the most

I was never the perfect Amity girl,

Even the way I looked was... Strange for my faction

Fair skin like the sun had never touched it, even though I was always outside

I always felt... Out of place in Amity

Like an outsider

I didn't want to act like them

I wanted-no scratch that-I knew I belonged in Dauntless

The adrenaline rushes, being able to be selfish and not be judged about it

I was woken up by the sound of birds chirping outside my open window

God, I hated those birds

I groaned quietly and looked at the clothes that were lying neatly on the chair next to my bed

I sat up and ran a hand through my hair with a yawn

After some time of just wishing that I could stay in bed all day, I managed to get myself to get up

After a quick shower, I got back in my room and closed my window

With a sigh, I tried on the light yellow dress that my mom loved

Turning to look at myself in the mirror, I saw a girl with no intention on trying to fit in anymore

The time finally had come, I would know who I was, where I should be

I clumsily pulled the hem of the dress down and grabbed my shoes, quickly putting them on

I grabbed a brush and brushed my hair, putting it up in a ponytail

I took one last look in the mirror and decided that I was looking alright, so I headed to the dining room

My parents, Callie and little Lizzie were all at the dinner table, eating breakfast

My brother came right after me and sat on the table

I just stood there and watched them

They were all like a big happy family

"Come on, darling," My mother said and tapped the spot next to her, with a grin

I quietly sighed and with a small smile I sat down

"Well, are you nervous?" My father asked

My brother, Michael just nodded

Michael, Callie and I were all the same age

"Very" he mumbled

"Sara?"

I chuckled and then Callie scoffed

"It's frustrating,"

"What is?"

"Depending on a test..."

Callie had always been the one that questioned everything and everyone- she was defiant, and that was the reason I loved her a little bit more than Michael

He was honest-Candor honest really

Callie did what she wanted and never had second thoughts about it

Secretly, I thought she would transfer to another faction, maybe Candor, even Dauntless

On the other hand, I was the quiet child of the family

Keeping my thoughts about wanting to transfer, to myself

We started eating in silence

When we were all done, we took our stuff and went to school

We had class until ten, and then we would take the tests

We got to school and everybody was already there

All the students were wearing happy smiles on their faces

The younger students were just looking relieved to not have school that day

As we wandered the hallway, there was a girl from Abnegation walking alongside us

She was a year younger than me, but I had seen her around

She had blonde hair like me-I had heard her name but I couldn't remember it

She was so shy and quiet, all people from her faction seemed to be

"Stiff!" Someone yelled to her as she tried to ignore him

Suddenly I felt guilt rushing over to me for not doing anything as I just walked away

I took a deep breath and got in the room

It was rather big for just a chair in the middle of it

Honestly, it kinda looked like a hospital with mirrors for walls

I stared at myself in one of them for a second and then turned to face a woman

She was in her early thirties, wearing a black and white dress that went down to her knees, Candor

I smiled

"Hello," I said with the usual cheery voice I always used, the Amity way of talking

"I can tell you're not really that happy and excited", sighed She said with a slight chuckle

I and sat on the chair with a sigh

Definitely Candor

"I'm Kate."

"Saraphine. So... What is this thing with all the Candors? You just know when one is telling the truth or lying?" I asked with a laugh

She chuckled and turned to take something

"We have this... Ability to read body language really well."

She gave me a blue drink

"Interesting.." I mumbled and drank the liquid

It was really sour, and once I drank it all, my head started spinning

It was starting
