"damn it!" you yelled and sprinted down an isle of a grocery store. zombies chased after you, but you managed to get out of the store unscathed. you blocked the door with a few carts and ran out of the parking lot.

other zombies noticed you and started to chase you. luckily, you were faster than them and ran to another building. you saw that it had a fire escape ladder and climbed up the ladder. then, you pulled the ladder up before zombies could catch up.

you sighed in relief and climbed up the whole building. you sat down on the edge of the roof and took out a box in your backpack. inside of the box contained a bag of chips and a small sandwich.

you were on a supply run for your community but struck out. at the supermarket, you had found cans of food, but zombies pushed the shelves and ambushed you before you could get any of them.

maybe if i come back here with some of the guys, we can grab food...

it was probably around noon, at least that was your guess. you finished your small lunch and packed your bag. then, something caught your eye as you zipped your backpack up.

"AH! SOMEONE HELP!"

you saw a guy running out of a building across the street. the zombies that were by the ladder had decided to chase after the guy.

you took your crossbow out and aimed at a zombie that was getting too close to him. you pulled the trigger and watched a zombie fall. the guy noticed you while trying to fend for himself. you pointed in another direction to signal for him to leave. then you continued getting rid of some of the zombies while the guy ran away.

"damn," you muttered when you realized you had three arrows left. you strapped the crossbow onto your backpack and walked to the ladder. zombies weren't nearby the ladder so you climbed down and easily got out. you quietly ran and hoped the guy would be relatively near you.

"hey!" you heard someone whisper yell. you stopped running and looked around. you saw the guy standing behind a fence. you walked over to him and he looked around to make sure zombies weren't by you two. "thank you so much for helping me. my name is jungwoo," he introduced himself and held out his hand.

"my name is y/n," you took his hand and shook it. "you alone?" you asked him.

he nodded his head, "yea, i've been alone for a bit now." he shortly explained. "you?"

"i have a group. we could use another person," you said to him.

"for real?" he asked in astonishment.

you nodded, "believe me, we'll take all of the people we can get. as long as our leader is okay with it, you're welcome to join." you said. "come on, we should go," you peeked out from the fence. there were only a few zombies wandering near you two.

"you get the one on the left and i get the two on the right?" jungwoo asked.

"sounds good," you responded. you took your knife out from it's holster and approached the zombie. it charged at you but you just stabbed its head before it could get to close enough to bite you.

jungwoo easily stabbed the two zombies ahead of you. you caught up to him and started leading him to your community. it didn't take that long to get back since you knew a few shortcuts.

as you approached the gates to your community, you saw johnny at the gate.

"johnny!" you called out as you and jungwoo approached the gate.

"you got anything?" johnny asked while opening the gate. you and jungwoo entered and johnny closed it. you shook your head. "i'm johnny," he introduced himself to jungwoo.

"jungwoo."

"i'm going to bring him to taeyong and make sure he can stay here," you said to johnny.

"alrighty," johnny nodded his head.

"woah, this place is so cool!" jungwoo looked around in excitement. the community was filled with building and makeshift farms.

you smiled and patted his shoulder, "welcome to nct."
