"y/n?" you heard your name being called and turned around to see xiao jun. "hey," he smiled.

"hi," you replied and put your phone in your bag. "so, where are we going?" you asked as you two walked together.

"near the boardwalk. there's supposed to be a whole bunch of food trucks to eat at," he answered. "how was your day?"

"it was good. i just cleaned around my house and did some work," you mentioned. "how was yours?" you asked.

he nodded his head, "mine was good too," he spoke a bit louder as the area became more crowded with people. suddenly, xiao jun put his arm around your shoulders. "sorry, i didn't want people to bump into you," he apologized.

you shook your head and smiled at him, "it's okay."

you two walked to a park that was right by the boardwalk. you immediately noticed about eight food trucks along the street.

"anything you want to try?" xiao jun asked as you two looked at the different trucks.

"that looks good," you pointed to a food truck that sold different fried foods.

"okay, let's go," xiao jun said and you guys stood in line. "man, there's a whole bunch of food!" he exclaimed. "what do you want?" he asked you.

you looked at the menu. "how about that?" you pointed to a fried cheese corn dog.

"i'll get the fish cake," he said. you two walked up to the truck as it was your turn to order. "can we get one cheese corn dog and an order of fish cakes?" he asked. you reached for your wallet. "hey, don't worry about it, y/n. i'm paying today," he said to you.

"are you sure?" you asked and zipped up your purse.

xiao jun nodded his head and paid for the food. you two were handed your food and you guys started eating while walking around.

"can i try some?" xiao jun asked.

"yea," you replied. xiao jun took a bite.

"woah! that's so good!" he exclaimed and you laughed. "here, try some of this," he offered you some fish cake.

you took a bite and smiled. "that's good too," you commented. "hey, they have milkshakes," you mentioned while looking at another food truck.

"you want one? i could use one," xiao jun said to you.

"sure," both of you went up to the food truck. "what flavor do you want?" you asked him.

"i want to get the strawberry one. which one do you want?" he asked you.

"mocha," you answered.

xiao jun ordered your milkshakes and both of you stepped to the side so other people could order.

"this is so much fun," you mentioned.

"it is? i wasn't sure if this would be or not," xiao jun put a hand on the back of his neck.

"of course! i'm glad we could go out together," you said to him. "whenever you're free again, let's go out again," you said to him.

"sure," he smiled and put his hand down.

your milkshakes were finished and xiao jun grabbed both of them. you grabbed straws and both of you sat down at a table that was near by.

"woah," you spoke once you took a sip of your milkshake. "this is so good."

"i know, right? we need to come here more often," xiao jun said and put his drink on the table. "hey, could we take a photo together?"

"yea," you smiled. xiao jun moved the chair he was sitting on closer to you. then, he took his phone out and put it up against his cup with the camera on. "oh my gosh, my hair is a mess," you spoke and quickly tried to fix your hair.

"it looks great, y/n. you don't need to worry about it," xiao jun complimented. "come on." he pressed the timer and you moved closer to xiao jun while smiling. the camera took the photo and xiao jun clicked on the photo. "we look good," he chuckled.

you laughed, "yea, i like that one. want to take another?" you asked.

he nodded. you two took a few photos together; some that were cute and some that were absolutely ridiculous.

"okay, last one. i'm getting hungry," xiao jun said to you and pressed the button. you smiled this time but right as the timer when to one, xiao jun turned his head and kissed your cheek. you became surprised and the camera took the picture.

it was at that moment that you started blushing like crazy and xiao jun was exactly the same.

"s-sorry," he apologized.

"it's okay..." you muttered. but then, you reached in and kissed his cheek, "there we go. now we're even."

"huh?"

"is-isn't that how it's supposed to work?" you nervously asked.

xiao jun started laughing while you became super shy.

"i don't think it works like that, but hey, i don't mind at all," xiao jun said to you and both of you continued on your date with you still acting super shy for the rest of the night.
