"how much more do you need to type?" you asked your friend, who sat across from you.

"five pages," she answered with a sigh.

"five? you should've started on it earlier," you said to her.

"yea, i'm about to grind it out for the rest of the night," she said and started typing. you started working on your assignments.

"hey guys," you looked up and saw your friend, xiao jun. he sat down next to your friend and put a bag with food on the table.

"are you here to eat or to study?" you asked him.

"i have food for everyone. lucas and hendery will be here in a bit," he said and took out the food that was in the bag. he slid two containers with chopsticks on top to you and you immediately dug in.

you continued one of your assignments while eating and managed to almost finish it as hendery and lucas walked up to your table.

"hey guys," hendery greeted and sat down next to xiao jun while lucas sat down next to you.

"hey," you spoke and opened the second container.

"thanks for the food," lucas said and started eating while hendery opened a book.

"no problem," xiao jun said and started typing.

a few hours went by and it was getting close to eleven o'clock at night.

"okay, i'm going to my dorm. y/n, want to get breakfast tomorrow?" you friend asked you as she stood up.

"sure, i'll text you when i wake up," you said to her.

"i'll walk you back," hendery offered and he and xiao jun stood up.

"yea, i need to go take a shower," xiao jun said and the three packed up their backpacks.

"see you guys," you waved at them as they left.

you looked over at lucas, who was reading something on his laptop. he noticed you staring and looked at you, "what?"

"you're never here this late," you said to him.

"so?" he questioned.

"i'm just saying, it's weird for you to still be at the library at this hour," you said and turned away to look at your computer. you typed an answer to a question and finished an assignment.

"i just didn't want you to walk back alone," lucas said and you looked at him. "you never know who's on the street at this hour," he added and closed his laptop.

"well, thank you," you said to him and opened another assignment.

"mhm," he nodded. "are you almost done?" he asked.

"yea, this one isn't due until next week," you mentioned. then, your stomach rumbled. "oh my."

lucas chuckled, "you're hungry again? want to grab a bite to eat? i'm hungry too."

"nothing's open on campus right now," you mentioned.

"i can drive us. i drove here with hendery," he offered.

"is this an invitation to a date?" you questioned.

lucas uncrossed his arms, "if i said yes, then do i get a kiss on the cheek?" he asked.

you scoffed. then, you leaned in and kissed his cheek. lucas just sat there and mentally questioned what just happened.

"yah, come on, i'm hungry," you said and started getting ready to leave.

"i never thought you'd actually kissed me," he said.

"lucas, we've been dating for six months," you glared at him.

"you never kiss me in public though," he added and you continued to glare at him.

"you're so weird," you said to him and stood up.

"i love you."

"and i still think you're weird," you responded.

"you're supposed to say "i love you too" to me," he pouted and slung his backpack over his shoulder. "say it," he whined and stood up. he hugged you tightly, "say you love me."

"i love you too, weirdo," you said and pecked his lips.
