"let's set up here," jaemin said to you as you guys approached a tree in the park.

"okay," you said to him and you two walked to the tree. he set down the picnic basket while you unfolded a blanket. jaemin grabbed the other ends and helped you spread it out. you sat down while jaemin moved the basket. "thank you for taking me out. this is great," you said to him and smiled.

"of course, babe," he replied and sat down next to you with the basket in front of you two. you opened the basket and took out a few containers with the lunch that you prepared earlier. you opened a container and handed him a sandwich. "ooh, this looks yummy," jaemin commented and took a bite, "because it is yummy. thank you, babe."

"mhm," you replied and opened up containers with fruits and snacks. you took out two water bottles and placed a bottle in front of jaemin.

"hey, you better eat too," jaemin said to you.

you nodded, "i will, i will," you replied and took out another container with a sandwich. you opened it and started eating.

"did you have an easy day at work last night?" he asked.

you covered your mouth while chewing, "i had to take care of a few patients, but mostly, i just finished up paperwork that i had piled up." you recalled and swallowed. "you were fast asleep and sprawled all over the bed by the time i got home this morning. i had to push you a bit so i could have some room on the bed," you mentioned and petted his hair.

"you got home at four am, of course i was going to be fast asleep." he said to you. "you were passed out by the time i woke up. i'm pretty sure you were drooling on your pillow," he started laughing and you hit him, "ow!"

"i was not drooling!" you said to him but he kept laughing.

"you definitely drooled a bit," he said and you rolled your eyes.

"my hair was wet by the time i got into bed, doofus," you said to him and grabbed a chip.

"your hair may have been wet, but your mouth was open and you were drooling on your pillow, babe," he said and he kissed your cheek.

you rolled your eyes again and shook your head. then, you opened a water bottle and took a sip.

today was a nice day for a picnic. the sky was sunny with zero clouds hovering above. a few kids were playing on a playground and a couple of people ran or walked by.

you and jaemin finished eating and you packed the basket up. you yawned uncontrollably and felt jaemin looking at you.

"you can take a nap if you want to, y/n," he said to you but you shook your head.

"no, it's okay."

"come on, we have the whole day off. it's okay to rest for a little bit," he said to you and made you lay down on his lap. he brushed his hand through your hair and planted a few kisses on your face, "just close your eyes, babe."

"thank you," you smiled at him and crossed your legs. you closed your eyes.

"no problem, babe," he said to you. you felt him caress your head and kiss your head. "just make sure you don't drool on me," he added, which made you elbow him. "ouch. okay, i deserved that." he said and you smiled.
