shotaro - late night

you laid on the couch while watching tv. you were waiting for shotaro to come home even though he told you to go to sleep since he would've be coming home late, but you were binge-watching anime instead of sleeping.

at some point during the night, you heard the front door open and looked behind to see shotaro walking in.

"shotaro," you smiled and stood up. you walked over to him while he took his shoes off. "did you have a good day?" you asked him. he immediately hugged you and buried his head in your neck. "are you okay?"

shotaro mumbled something and you wrapped your arms around his back.

"babe, i can't understand you," you mentioned to him. "you need to speak coherently."

he mumbled something again. you immediately realized that he was mumbling because he was so tired from practicing.

you smiled and lightly chuckled. "hey," you ruffled his hair, "did you eat dinner?" you asked him.

he shook his head.

"alrighty, go upstairs and change your clothes. i'll make you something to eat," you said to him. he nodded his head and let go of you. he heavily yawned and walked upstairs.

you went into the kitchen and started heating up leftovers on the stove for shotaro. you heard the shower turn on upstairs as you cooked. after about fifteen minutes, shotaro walked into the kitchen with new clothes on and a towel around his shoulders.

"what are you making?" he finally spoke and didn't mumble.

"i have stew, rice, and some pork," you answered. shotaro wrapped his arms around you, "good sit down. it's almost done."

"but hugging you is better," he said.

you laughed, "i know it is but seriously, i'm almost done cooking. let me go."

"no."

"okay, then make yourself useful and grab bowls and utensils," you said. shotaro let go of you and you saw him open a cabinet and a drawer. shotaro helped you plate everything and placed the plates and bowls on the table while you put and the pots and pans in the sink.

"do you want something to drink?" shotaro asked you.

"water is fine," you answered. you sat down at the table and shotaro sat down next to you. he started eating and you drank some water. "try to get home earlier, okay?" you said to him.

he nodded, "yea, i'll try. i just wanted to practice more," he said.

"you need to give yourself a break, babe," you said and started eating. "it's okay to rest."

"i know," he said. he reached in and kissed your head. "i love you."

"i love you too."
