"Shit..." Roman groaned as he stumbled slightly, tripping on a root right into Elvire's arms.

"Are you ok?" Roman huffed as he nodded, hating the fact that he was so weak at that moment... He tensed hearing those familiar voices just mocking him. He was getting really annoyed with it fast. "We could take a break."

"Virgil needs me. Remus... Janus... they need me there." Elvire glanced off with a frown as he helped Roman over this log. "It was already a long journey before the injury."

"It's not the length of the journey that worries me, young one." Roman's eyes narrowed noticing the others concerned glance. "Something is very wrong. The other creatures... they're scared... hiding. Roman... The forest..." Roman took Elvire's hand making the demon snap over only to get even more confused over the soft smile the prince gave him. "I'm worried."

"I can see that." Roman's smile turned sad as he tried to comfort the demon. "Hey, whatever it is causing problems... We'll figure it out. You help me... and I'll you. Ok?" Elvire's eyes shined as he nodded making Roman beam. "Good, because there is no way Remus or Virgil would ever just let a bunch of their kind get hurt."

"For a human, you do seem to be quite... caring." Roman's eyes narrowed as he sighed and shrugged.

"You can thank Virgil." Roman smiled softly with this far away look that still held a sort of fondness in his eyes. "I wasn't always like this. I suppose in the past I was the typical human man... hell bent on fighting off the 'evil' demons." El frowned as Roman seemed to deflate. "I even wanted to be a dragon slayer. My twin Remus... they were always supportive. They would fight me tooth and nail about good and bad being inane concepts. They... they were right.... Obviously but at the time I just couldn't understand. To me... Demons were evil. It took falling in love with a dragon to finally see just how wrong I was about it all."

"You really do love him." Roman smiled more as he nodded.

"He means everything to me." El's eyes darkened as Roman glanced off in thought.

"Roman. You obviously know about him being a dragon, clearly. But... The lad has been through quite alot..."

"I am more than aware of the things he's done and has experianced, El." Elvire's eyes widened at the nickname as Roman chuckled a bit. "I've seen them. I've seen his parents... his brother, Thomas. I've seen... I've seen quite a few of the 'missions' his shitty father would send him on. I even saw the Great Forest with all the elves... and the tree of life." El was frozen there in complete shock as Roman's eyes held that protective nature. "I've seen it. I've experanced it as if it were me. I know nearly all of it... maybe. I don't know. None of it changes the fact that I still love him."

"You're a very good man, Roman." Roman rolled his eyes only to hesitate a bit as Elvire started to laugh. "I mean it. You are very good. If I may say so without causing offense... Had I been much younger, you would have been someone I would have loved to have as a host."

"Wait... really?" Elvire paused slightly before nodding seeing the intrigued look in the youngers eyes. "I never thought I would hear that. Then again it took me completely surprised over Virgil just chosing me to be his rider. Then again at the time I didn't know it was Virgil." Roman looked around and frowned feeling the flux in the energy around them. "We should get moving, El. Something doesn't feel right."

"If your certain you can make it." Roman's eyes narrowed as El slowly helped him back to his feet, the dull throb in his leg a reminder of just how weak he is.

"I don't think we have much of a choice."

"PATTON!" Janus yelled out as Kuro practically dropped into the dirt in front of the castle. The gaurds instantly went on edge but the projector really didn't care much. His focus was on his baby girl. "You'll be ok, Kuro. My sweet baby girl, you'll be ok." His eyes were going yellow at the emotional termoil in him as Kuro whimpered moving her wings. "I know. I'm sorry. I don't know how to fix them completely yet. I promise. I'll figure it out as fast as I can."

"Janus?" Logan and Patton both ran out of the castle only to freeze up at the sight before them. Or well, Logan did since Patton really couldn't see anything. "Brother?"

"Father, he... He... fuck. I'm sorry. It's just as soon as I got her back I couldn't let her stay there. Patton they grounded her." Patton nodded as he walked over and pulled Janus into a hug. Patton shifted enough to hold his brother as he 'stared' at Kuro with this sad smile. He gently let his hand brush over her nose as Kuro gave a soft purring trilling sound that broke Janus's heart all the more. "I don't know what to do."

"She's hurt. It might be best to leave her in Logan's care for a while, Jan." Janus tensed before nodding slightly. He knew. He knew Logan wouldn't do anything to harm her. Logan isn't that type of person. "Janus, she isn't scared though. She'll be ok. Her only concern is you." Janus smiled as Patton ran his hands through the youngers hair. "She is happy though. Happy to have you back... happy to see you smiling... happy you're with me..." Patton made him look up at him as he smiled. "Happy that you're you again and not what our father made you."

"I couldn't just... let that stand. He hurt her, Pat. He hurt my baby girl. If Remus knew... god they would go ballistic. I'm sure Virgil would have too." Patton nodded as Logan slowly joined them making Kuro whine a bit over the kings presence. Janus chuckled slightly as he took Logan's hand, who didn't try to fight or pull away at all, and placed his hand on Kuros nose letting her smell him better.

"Amigo, Kuro." Kuro's eyes widden as Janus nodded. "Hermano." Her eyes darted from Patton back to Logan before she gently pushed up against the kings hand.

"She knows spanish?" Janus nodded as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Yeah. I didn't want my commands easily known but... I didn't know anything." Logan just smiled as his markings started to glow.

"Es un placer conocerte." Janus's eyes shot wide as Logan hummed softly letting his fingers trail down the dragons scales since she was letting him. "Dragón muy bonita..." Kuro purred under the praise making Janus's eyes shine. He'd never seen his girl so calm with another before. "Voy a intentar ayudarte." Kuro tilted her head a bit with a nod as Logan turned his attention to the rider. "I'll watch over her, don't worry. Right now you need to focus on your mate and your kingdom."

"No." Everyone stopped short as Patton shook his head cutting in with pierce lips and a serious expression. "No. Roman's got them."

"Roman, hurt." Janus snapped suddenly making Logan pale. "Nobody knows what happened to him. Last I knew Virgil was unconcious from a sudden bout of intense pain. We don't even know if Roman's alive."

"Roman's alive." Patton reassured as he squeezed Logan's hand. "Roman's alive and he's on his way to Almira. Let him handle Remus and Virgil. WE need to focus on the forest."

"What do you mean?" Janus's eyes were dark as Patton frowned.

"They've started to attack any and all demons. The forest in under seize. We need to protect them for as long as we can while Roman hands Almira." Patton took Janus's hand as he nodded to emphasize what he was saying. "As long as we keep the forest safe that lessened any distractions toward Ro. Roman needs to handle this on his other or else his path will not be the one we desire and many if not all will get hurt. Please trust me on this. Roman will save your mate... Just as he will save his own."

"His mate... Patton, Roman's a human. I get Roman being Virgil's mate but it would be one sided." Patton only smiled as Janus frowned in confusion. "What aren't you telling us?" Patton just laughed as he quickly shook his head.

"No spoilers brother."
