Virgil was stressing again. He was waiting for Roman back at the castle. He and Patton had come back to find them gone again and it took everything for Virgil not to freak. Instead he went to Their room and just collapsed on the bed.

He didn't want to think it was possible but what if Roman really was just another Janus? It was nice in the beginning with him too and this time Roman got what Janus never could. Virgil was Roman's dragon. But now... Virgil was scared he made the wrong choice.

Roman's been distant. He's been pulling away and they're supposed to be getting married in a few months. Virgil wanted nothing more than to shut all those dark thoughts off but something was nagging at the back of his mind.

For starters, Roman still to this day refused to explain what he was doing that night a year ago. Or even what became of Janus after everything happened. Virgil isn't blind... anymore. He knew something was going on. Especially since Patton made a trip all the way to Ceit to reclaim his status. Patton never explained why but Virgil knew if Deceit was there Patton wouldn't have done it. Patton was happy not having any princely responsibilities. Same with Roman, who Virgil thought would have pulled away from the castle once everything was done but he didn't. Sure he didn't interfere with Logan who was King but... They were all still in the castle.

Virgil didn't mind it. He was happy to be close to people who actually cared about him but he was scared. Roman has been acting so differently since that night. He's been more... violent. Occasionally Virgil would see Roman snap and it wasn't exactly pretty. Roman was over cautious around Virgil so it not like he did anything to the dragon but it still scared him. It reminded him of himself back with Lya. Back when the insanity wasn't as strong but he was still... Dangerous. He would fight with anyone that upset him. Roman seemed to be doing the same thing.

So Virgil laid there on their bed waiting. Patton was right. He needed to confront him with his worries. Roman wanted him to be honest with him about how he felt and this anxiety about all this is only making it hard for him. He hasn't snapped since that day. In fact his insanity hasn't messed with him at all since then. It's like its just gone but... But the trauma is still there. The memories... the fear... Virgil just can't seem to shake his past. He needed Roman. Roman helped... That's why he chose him. He felt safe and loved with Roman but now... now he worried too.

Virgil tensed hearing the bedroom door open and he slowly sat up seeing the darkened figure walk in to the pitch black room. The dragon reached over turning the bedside lamp on causing the figure to freeze up and glance over with a look of guilt in his eyes.

"Roman?" The Prince smiled as he awkwardly rubbed his neck. "It's 11 o'clock at night... Where have you been?"

"Nowhere, Hun. I was just... visiting a friend." Virgil narrowed his eyes as Roman sat down beside him. "Why are you up?"

"I was worried about you. You tend to disapear a lot. I don't... like not knowing if your safe." Roman just pulled the other in close as they laid back a bit. "Roman, what's going on with you?"

"What do you mean?" Virgil could feel as Roman brushed his fingers through his hair. It was relaxing but he couldn't just ignore his thoughts. He had to get Roman to talk to him. If they were going to get married then they need to communicate. "Virgil?"

"You've been different. For the past year you've... You've been..."

"Oh, hush your mind, Hun." Roman laughed softly only making Virgil narrow his mind in thought. He could feel Roman's worry clear as day the moment he started to bring it up. "Everything is fine. I promise." He's lying. Virgil sighed as he pulled away turning back to look at a confused Roman.

"You're lying to me. Why? What is going on? I'm sure it's nothing bad..." He glanced away and Virgil froze up. "Roman... I-It isn't bad, is it?"

"Virgil, nothing is going on..." Another lie. Virgil got up out of bed and Roman tensed up. "Virgil, please. You have to believe..."

"Why should I believe you when I know you're lying?" Roman's eyes started to go a bit purple and Virgil started for the door.

"B-But I'm no..."

"ROMAN, I AM YOUR DRAGON!" The prince's eyes darkened as Virgil stood there in front of their door with tears in his eyes. Virgil wasn't stupid. He could see the way Roman's hands twitched slightly or the purple in his fiance's eyes. Something was clearly going on. You didn't need the connection they had to tell. "I will always know when you're lying to me."

"Virgil, I promise there is nothing you need to..."

"I can't go through this again." Roman froze up as Virgil hugged himself. "I won't do it. I thought I could trust you Roman, but you're repeatedly lying to my face... a-and you wont even tell me why. You won't even give it up after I told you that you can't lie to me."

"You can trust me. Virgil, I lov..."

"He said that too!" If Roman's eyes were any indication how he felt then the intensity of the purple in them was a clear sign. Not to mention the wave of nauseousness that over came Virgil. His chest burned with pain as struggled to breathe. Virgil knew he had hurt Roman but he had to get the man to see just how badly he felt. "Janus said he loved me too." Virgil's voice broke as he rubbed his arm looking down at the ground to avoid the pain in Roman's eyes. "I trusted him. I loved him and he... He put me through hell Roman."

"I am NOTHING like him." Virgil flinched at the anger lacing Roman's voice but he didn't falter. "That mans a monster..."

"Not in the beginning. Janus was kind and sweet. He made me feel loved and safe. He gave me a reason to go on when I didn't want to..." Virgil chest tightened even more as the room started to spin. "I love you, Roman. And I gave you the one thing I never EVER thought of giving him. I chose you... but... I don't..." It was all to much for him to deal with.

"V-Virgil? Virgil please come here..." The dragon broke as he slowly walked over letting himself get pulled in. He laid there staring at nothing as Roman held him close. He could feel the way Roman was shaking but Virgil was a bit to numb to care. He lost. The moment he went back to Roman he knew the conversation was over and that he had given up. "Don't... Please don't... don't leave me alone." Virgil frowned as Roman's voice hitched. It was so quiet Virgil was thankful for his dragon senses to be able to hear it. "I need you Virgil. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I've been so... different but please... trust me when I say it's fine. Everything will be ok. You don't..." Roman sighed as he held Virgil even closer. "You don't have to worry about me."

Another lie...
