"I̸ ̴C̸A̸N̸'̸T̷ ̸T̸R̵Y̷ ̷A̶G̸A̴I̵N̸!̷" Roman snapped, eyes glowing a dangerous purple as his voice echoed around them. "You can't get the insanity... ̶B̵E̷C̶A̵U̶S̵E̷ ̶I̷ ̴A̸L̴R̷E̸A̶D̷Y̶ ̴H̶A̷V̴E̵ ̵I̶T̵!̷" Roman froze up in the realization of what he just said as Janus just smiled.

"I knew it." Roman's eyes were wide as they began to tear up. Janus frowned seeing the pain in them as Roman shook. "Roman?"

"I..." Roman twitched as his hands went to his ears. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have..." He winced making the snake really worried as Roman started to shake his head backing up. "I didn't mean to. I didn't mean... I'm sorry."

"Roman, it's ok... it's..." Roman spun around and just ran startling everyone and cutting Janus off. "Roman, where are you going?!" Janus yelled after the prince as he ran out of the room. Virgil attempted to run after him only for Patton to pick him up to stop him. "Shit. I didn't... I didn't set him off did I? I was only trying to..."

"He'll be ok. He just needs time. It's a lot to accept. Roman's a very... princely type of character. He has to come to terms with the fact that he isn't as morally good as he strives to be." Janus just stared after Roman as he frowned with guilt. "Seriously, Janus. It's ok."

"I shouldn't have pushed him."

"You were trying to get answers for Virgil."Janus frowned even more as his brother placed a supportive hand on his shoulder. "We're all concerned for him. I am too... even knowing how things are meant to play out. Things aren't set and stone. I may have a timeline but subject to change. Right now, however... Everything is going as it should. Things are ok. He will be fine."

"How can you say that with such security? Patton, he just said he cursed himself with Virgil's insanity. That he was trying to give it to me and that he failed... One if he succeeded I don't even want to know how much I wouldn't have broken. I'm already a god damn mess. But... Patton, He can't possibly be able to handle that. Virgil could hardly handle it and it's his!"

"Roman, will be fine. Things will be different about him and he will need help but I assure you... If everything works the way it's supposed to he's going to be just fine." The lizard, Virgil, shivered and shook making Patton have to drop him just moments before Virgil turned back to normal.

"What the fuck is going on?!" Patton frowned as Virgil stood there shaking. "He... and you... Someone tell me the truth RIGHT FUCKING NOW!"

"Roman's been dealing with your insanity since the day he brought you back from Ceit." Virgil stumbled back as his heart literally broke within him. He could feel Roman's pain and all he wanted to do was go and hold him. "Virgil, you can't."

"Patton, I love you... But don't tell me what to do." Virgil started to turn around only to freeze as his body ached horribly.

"Right now, Roman's hanging on a thread. The only reason he's actually opened up at all is because of the fact that you aren't here."

"He's suffering, Pat... and it's my..."

"Don't say it." Virgil glared over at Janus who just smiled sadly at him. "That right there is why he didn't want you to know, Vee... He didn't want you to get hurt."

"He won't hurt me." Patton sighed as he reached out taking Virgil's hand and drawing his attention to him. "He won't hurt me, Pat. I know him. Even with that shit... he won't."

"There is more than one way to hurt someone. He doesn't want you to feel guilty... or to feel sad. He doesn't want you to pity him or to think him broken. Roman's greatest desire is to be able to protect you. He's already feeling as if he can't. It's an insult to injury if you go in thinking you can protect him from this." Virgil frowned as Patton rubbed his thumb over his hand. "You have to give him time. Just a little bit more for him to come to terms... to accept that this is who he is now. That... that he needs help."

"In the meantime, he's just suffering with MY insanity. I was going to leave him." Janus jumped in shock at the sudden admission but Patton just smiled at the breaking dragon. "I was going to leave because I didn't know what was going on with him and..."

"It's ok to be afraid Virgil. He's afraid too. But right now... you have to let him suffer through it. It won't be forever. He'll find his way back to you, I promise. Until then, he can't see you. He can't know you're here."

"Patton, I..." Virgil's throat burned as he nodded through the tears that welled up in his eyes.

"It's not forever, Kiddo. No Rider can be without there dragon for long... I promise you soon, you'll be able to hold him and tell him everything your desperate to say now. You just can't... right now." Patton pulled Virgil into a hug as the dragon broke down and cried. "Everything will work out like it's supposed to. You'll be with Roman again I promise. Your love will last for centuries to come."

"Patton he's human." Janus bit his lip as the two other froze. If Patton was able to Janus knew he'd be glaring at him. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."

"No, you're right." Virgil sniffled as he pulled away and wiped his face clean. "I keep forgetting that fact. Roman is only human. He'll die long before I do." Patton sighed as he brushed Virgil's hair back with a soft laugh. "Patton, stop..."

"Your love will last for millennia even, Virgil. Trust me when I say everything will work out. I know where Lo and I stand. Just as I know where you and Roman stand. Do not fear his life span... If things are meant to be..." Patton beamed as Virgil started to smile a bit. "... they have a way of making things right."
