Tony was resting in one of the white rooms of the beach house. Conch shells on driftwood shelves decorated the small master bedroom, and the blankets were plush and fluidly like ocean froth. He wasn't at peace though, he had a nightmare and woke with terror. "S-Stephen?... he called into the empty darkness, the only light being the reactor on his chest.
It then hit him that Stephen was still temporarily gone, having left days ago. This time it seemed like he was away for an even longer time. Though Stephen was back on earth, since about 15 minutes ago. He wanted to look for a gift for Tony as a sign of him apologising for being gone too long and as a way of saying I love you.
The darkness came at him, crushing him with the weight of a truck and made him breathless as he tumbled out of the suspended bed. He clutched at his chest, trying to rid himself of this agonizing pain in it... He tore the reactor off and suddenly the pain vanished, along with his consciousness and he went limp, letting the fragile piece slip through his fingers to the floor. This time though he dreamed of Stephen and sleeping with HIM that night.
A portal opened in one of the rooms and Stephen came out with. Bouquet of flowers and a stuffed bear, those cute Asian bears. "Anthony?" The sorcerer called out and it worried him when he didn't get a response. He gently put the gifts down and went all over to look for the mechanic. Eventually finding him in the empty room and gasped at the sight of Tony. "Anthony!"
Tony could've been dead, but he was breathing faintly. The reactor was lying face down on the wooden floor, barely a scratch thankfully. When Stephen's voice echoed around in his head, his lashes fluttered slightly. "Mm~"
"O-Oh my gods!" Stephen hurried and crouched down to Tony's side. "What did you do!?" He felt himself panic and scared. Then noticing the arc reactor.
Tony coughed quietly and tried to reach for him, smiling weakly. "Y-You're here..." His voice was barely a whisper. "Y-You're really here..."
"Of course I came back...i told you I always will..." Stephen started to tear up and picked up the arc reactor carefully. Wh-what do I do!?" It scared him at the very thought of losing Tony.
Tony closed his eyes again, his strength draining without the tech on his chest. "I-It burned me..." his soft whisper response said. "I think i-it would've killed me if I didn't wake up..."
"I-i can't leave you like this... Anthony I feel so helpless right now.." Tears were blurring Stephen's vision as he gently laid the brunette's head on his lap.
Tony mumbled something incoherent and started to fade away again. He knew it was no use lying here but he couldn't move on his own. "Just put it back on..."
Stephen quickly wiped away his tears and did his best to put the arc reactor on Tony correctly. He felt so scared about all of this, he may have faced so much bad of this world but he wasn't ready for this.
Tony gasped as the burning started again, but he felt so much more alive this time, the power shot him backwards into the wall some. "Ack!-" He took a moment then crawled back up to Stephen, resting on his knees thoughtfully. The pain was gone. "I guess I should check on that in the morning..."
"Oh Anthony!" Stephen wrapped his arms around Tony and held him close, his panic washing away. "You gave me such a scare!"
Tony held onto him, still shaken by what had happened before. Something was definitely wrong with his heart... it could wait until later though. He kissed his Stephen all over his face happily and nuzzled his nose with a smile. "Oh Stephen I'm sorry... I promise to try to be less troublesome."
"Why on earth did you take it off?" Stephen caressed Tony's cheek. "Is something not right..?" He looked worried.
Tony sighed and used the dim light of the reactor to peer down at his chest. Burned. Not severely, but painful. "I'll be fine. Love now fix later..." he mumbled and kissed him lightly. "bring me any presents?" he smiled more.
"Yes I did..." Stephen kissed Tony's forehead, hoping that his words are true and that he will be okay. He carried the mechanic and gently put him to bed. "I'll go get them, be back in a second" he then floated out of the room.
Tony waited, shifting so he was resting on his knees almost like an anime girl position as he waited. He loved watching Stephen use his magic, it made him feel so memorized to watch. "Hurry back..." he whispered.
Stephen then floated back into the room with the flowers and cute bear. "I hope you like them," he said as he now stood next to Tony.
Tony smiled and took them happily. "Oh Stephen I love them! Thank you..." he then looked at him. "Will you lay with me now?"
"Of course Anthony.." Stephen's cloak floated off his shoulders as he got on the bed to lay next to his love. Strange gave a smooch to the mechanics cheek as the cloak laid itself in front of them. Soon all of them finding peaceful slumber.
