This is like the Sylvain and Felix one. Big spoilers for Azure Moon.

Ashe never got as excited to be near someone as he did when he was around (y/n). She rivaled Annette and Mercedes when it came to being the nicest girl in the school, but even then, she was just a different kind of nice. She didn't get mad at anyone as far as he knew, and she helped anyone she could. She was actually sort of a pushover but he never thought that of her.

He'd been best friends with her since the first day in class. They used to sit next to each other in the classroom, but she'd crack jokes all throughout the lessons, so the professor separated them. They still hung out after classes most days, and studied together all the time. They also shared an interest in cooking, and chatted about the herbs in the greenhouse frequently.

She was the most amazing friend he could ever ask for. She was fun to study with, and talk to in general, and she had the cutest little smile whenever she'd see him....

Ashe always felt so lonely when she'd spend time with her other friends, mostly Bernadetta and Marianne, but Dimitri was also one of her closest friends. She would usually spar with him since they used similar weapons, but their sessions would get cut short when Dimitri broke something.

Anyway, the point is, Ashe loved hanging out with her more than most anything. Nothing made him happier.

It upset him to think of what would happen when they graduate. Would he ever get to see her again? Hopefully, but unlikely. If he convinced her to work alongside him as a knight for Castle Gaspard, though....

For now, he didn't need to think of that. He'd enjoy each and every moment he got to spend with her until that day.

As of right now, he knew she was tending to the stables with Dimitri, as the job had been assigned to them that week. The professor normally put them on those tasks together, even though they didn't share an interest in the same class certifications. They would be done soon, which meant he'd finally get to show her a cheap-but really great-restaurant he found in town.

He headed for the stables to wait for her, stopping right before the turn that would put him in sight. He could hear them talking about something, of which (y/n) seemed unhappy about.

"Dimitri," he heard her sigh. "How did you do this?"

"I swear it was an accident," the Prince promised. "The handles on those buckets are far too flimsy as it is."

"You broke it into three pieces. With one hand. In one motion."

"I assure you I have no control over my Crest."

"I guess it probably doesn't matter that much. There's plenty more buckets." The sound of metal colliding with metal met Ashe's ears when she stopped speaking for a moment. "I'll handle it this time, though."

"Are you sure? It may be too heavy for you."

Ashe peeked around the corner to watch. He knew eavesdropping wasn't right, but let's be honest, this was kind of funny.

He watched (y/n) walk into the stables while Dimitri picked up the apparent broken bucket. She waved his previous comment off. "I'll be fine. I used to carry buckets of water out to the cows in my village. And I won't break the bucket even if I drop it."

After a minute, she came back out with two new buckets, taking them off to fill them with water.

Ashe would've made his presence known now if he wasn't absentmindedly staring as if this were a play. He only continued watching quietly.

(y/n) almost made it back with the two sloshing buckets of water. Almost. When she neared the trough, she stumbled a bit, swiftly setting them down before they pulled her off balance. She stood up straight, stretching her back and rolling her shoulders. "This is really heavy," she informed her partner.
