What, Lizzie is posting another chapter that fast?? Two chapters in one day? Yup, I’m back with another chapter. Enjoy it!!!
Chapter 37
Zayn’s POV
I wanted nothing more than to sleep at night that day, but sadly, I could not. Even though I told myself I would forget about Ari, and try to like Perrie, I couldn’t. It’s amazing to think all this can happen on the first week of school. This would be my first weekend at LPAS, so that means no school, and hanging out with Perrie and trying to avoid Ari all day.
I lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking. This is going to be hard. I never thought it would be like this in LPAS. I thought I would be focused on my music 24/7, but I’ve been wrapped up in this Perrie/Ariana ever since I got here.
I know Ari didn’t mean what she said, and I should probably talk to her. She would understand, right. I wouldn’t want to listen to me if I were her. Why did I have to react the way I did? Why did Perrie have to come along and ruin everything? I could talk to her about how we can’t be together, and I HAVE to like Perrie, but she might not want to listen.
I woke up, later than usual, by about 5 minutes actually. All these problems kept me from having a good night’s sleep. I looked over at Jay’s bed, and he was sleeping soundly. I decided not to wake him up. I got dressed, in my black Nirvana t-shirt and some random pants I saw hanging in my closet, and went down to the cafeteria for breakfast.
When I got to the cafeteria, I saw Perrie and her friends talking and eating merrily, like nothing happened yesterday, with Ariana and the feathers, and the fight that nearly started between her and Elizabeth. Let’s get this day over with, I told myself. I went to the line to get my food, and sat down in between Perrie and Jesy.
“Hey babe!” Perrie said.
I swallowed hard. You can do this Zayn, you can do this.
“Hey…babe.” I mustered out. The girls just sat there, unable to speak. Yeah, they weren’t expecting that. Maybe they were still speechless form when I first sat here.
“Wasn’t expecting that.” Leigh was the first to say.
“What made you change your mind?” Jade asked. Oh please Jade, as if you didn’t know, I wanted to say to her, but knew I could not. In order for my relationship with Perrie to work, I need to be nice with her AND her friends, even as annoying as they were.
“Well, I decided that I should give Perrie a chance, you know, since she said she loved me and all. I guess I wasn’t being reasonable with her when I was being mean to her. Come her.” I said, and stretched out my arms so she would hug me, and she did.
This was all so very awkward. I’ve never hugged Perrie (actually I have, but that was because she forced me to), and I didn’t know how to hold her. It’s almost as I have never hugged anyone before. She smelled so good, minty almost. Her hair was a bit damp, almost as she had just taken a shower. It smelled good. Wait, why was I smelling her?
“Aww, you guys make the cutest couple!” Jesy squealed.
“You guys are going to be together forever!” added Jade. Be together forever. Those words stuck to me. I can’t be with Perrie forever. That would be like having a nightmare that reoccurs every night, and it won’t go away. I pulled Perrie away from me.
“Zayn, what’s wrong?” she asked me.
“No, nothing love, I just…got hungry, that’s all.” I grabbed my breakfast burrito and started munching it like it was my job. I looked down at my tray, not wanting to make eye contact with any of the girls. Once I was done, I grabbed my glass of orange juice, and chugged it down. The girls had ignored me by then, but when my juice was all gone, they decided to talk to me. Rats.
“So, Zayn, what do you want to do after this?” Perrie asked.
I wasn’t paying much attention to her. I was looking around the room. Harry, Louis, and Ed throwing food, that’s not weird. The little actresses learning lines for an upcoming play. Niall and Liam and some other guys playing paper American football. Ariana, Liz, and their friends eating and talking and laughing. I started at her for about half a minute, and not once did Ari turn around. Why do I always ending turning to look at her, even though I know she doesn’t want to. I would think that this time she would, but it’s almost like she’s forgotten about me. I was about to turn around when Liz made eye contact with me. She gave me a cold, hard look, which I translated to, get away from Ari, she’s done with you. She then quickly turned back and whispered something in Ari’s ear. Instantly, she turned back, and gave me the same look. And she also turned around just as quickly.
When I turned around, Little Mix was looking at me; they probably saw everything that had just happened. Jade, Jesy, and Leigh, looked confused, and Perrie being her, didn’t let it affect her.
“Again, what do you want to do after this?” Perrie asked again.
“Get away.” Was my response.
This chapter is shorter than the rest, I know. It’s nearly 10 in the morning, and I have already uploaded two chapters. I’ll be uploading more through the day. See ya!!
xox, Lizzie
