AkaRiko requested by LuluuWrites
Prompt: maybe they went on a date to a karaoke bar and got drunk?
Riko stood in front of the rather loud and rowdy bar, impatiently tapping her foot while frequently glancing at her watch.
"Late, I knew this was a mistake," she muttered to herself.
What led up to her being out here on a Saturday night was rather odd. She had just left a meeting with several other coaches and board members of the high school basketball association where a familiar red head bumped into her.
"Aida-san, what a pleasant surprise," he said.
"Ah, Akashi-kun, hello. What brings you here?"
"I came along with our coach, figured it would be best to be informed on any future changes and updates of what is to come of our basketball association for the following year."
"I see. Well, hopefully you got what you came here for," Riko said. She turned and headed for the exit when she felt a cold hand grab her wrist.
"I also...came here for one more thing," Akashi said with a smile.
"Eh?"
To her upmost surprise, his question came rather briefly and quickly. How about a date this Saturday night at the new bar that opened downtown? Riko wasn't much of a drinker, but she has been wanting to visit the new bar. She's still unsure of what exactly motivated Akashi to ask her out, let alone her responding with a blunt sure. She made sure not to speak a word to her team as the night approached. When Saturday came, she quickly slipped out of the house in casual shirt and skirt, all before her father started asking too many questions.
She glanced again at her watch. 20:13. He's very late in Riko's book. She rubbed her forehead and took a step in the direction home before a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks.
"A million apologies Aida-san, I would've been here earlier but I had the most trouble picking out the right outfit," Akashi said, taking Riko's hand and planting a light kiss on top.
"That's very unlike you Akashi-kun, however, that suit is very... formal?" Riko said, hesitating on her choice of words and pulling her hand away from Akashi.
Akashi was wearing all black: vest dress pants, dress shoes, and his coat. His red hair stood out like a sore thumb compared to his outfit (like it doesn't already).
"Shall we go inside?"
"That's what we're here for, isn't it?"
The two went inside the crowded bar. The lights were dimly lit; bright enough to see but dark enough to set a nice atmosphere. TVs were mounted across the bar disposing a variety of shows and games while an old fashioned jukebox blasted some type of music that Riko couldn't distinguish. People were crowding the dancefloor and the booths. On the opposite corner of the bar was a karaoke stage that had a long line of people waiting to take their turn in the spotlight. Riko wasn't sure if she'd be singing tonight, opting to listen to the terrible vocals of others instead. Akashi pointed to two empty seats at the far right side of the bar, so the two shoved their way through. After sitting down, the bartender approached them.
"What'll it be?"
"I'll take a tequila on the rocks," Akashi said with a straight face.
"Eh? Akashi-kun you like that stuff?"
"Of course, I only drink what's best," he said with a smirk.
Riko grimaced.
"Erm, I'll take a strawberry daiquiri." She's never been a fond of hard liquor, opting for more fruitier, less harsher drinks. The bartender came back with their drinks. Riko took a sip of her daiquiri and took a good long look at Akashi.
