"So..." she trailed, trying to open a conversation. Her eyes were darting at mine, as if trying to penetrate my soul. She's giving me evil chills.

"How's Eva, your mom? She's not here, right?" she curiously asked. She was a good friend of my dad and to my mom also but I guess she's fake when it comes to my mom. I couldn't blame her though. She would frequently ask me my mom's whereabouts.

"She's currently in Philippines, taking care of our business there, tita," I made sure that my answer was accurate and acceptable. She's a little straightforward person and I'm careful of my words. Mahirap na mapagalitan sa public, nakakahiya.

Alexa and Knox were not listening to the conversation as the same waitress approached them to get their orders. Now that I think of it, the waitress seemed to tremble by their strong gazes. Poor her, Alexa must've been pressuring her all the time.

"Won't you take over the company, my dear? Your dad, if I may add, especially told us that you would be handling it in the future," she said in a matter-of-fact tone. Why do I feel like she's hinting on something?

"I already spoke about it with Niran. I would be a co-CEO but my main job there is to be thier BO manager. Besides, I would be handling the resort here since I couldn't travel everyday. I'm afraid that I can't handle the resort here and the company, smoothly," I was fidgeting with my fingers. I would often glance at Kenneth, in hope to be saved by him. He seemed to notice my troubled self.

"you lack confidence. A lady should have it. Do not be sloppy, chin up and train yourself at your best," I knew where we're going already. I've been listening to the same words for years now. As the eldest daughter, their expectations were quite outrageous.

"she has 4 other brothers to take care of the companies, tita. I'm sure they're happy to lend a hand," Kenneth stopped her from saying too much. With no time to spare, our foods arrived.

I felt so uncomfortable while eating and I guess Kenneth was feeling the same way too. She was looking at us from time to time while talking to her kids. I remembered how my mom trained me about the proper dining etiquette. I guess that's why she's looking at the way I held my utensils.

I was hungry and I couldn't care about her anymore. So, I decided to totally ignore her. Actually, Kenneth was answering all of her questions. When I was done eating, I wiped my mouth with their table napkin.

I smiled apologetically at Kenneth before he went to eat his food. I was facing her 45 degrees. Although their food arrived, she couldn't keep her mouth shut.

"How are the Castillano brothers by the way? They seemed to be in trouble these days," she was talking about the problem of the companies. The company that I let kuya Lucas handled had some issues concerning the Miller's. It was probably because of my mom.

Kuya Julian and kuya Eduardo naman has their own business from their side, the Castillano's. The problem was handled by the three and kuya Niran offered to help too.

"They're actually doing very well. The problem died yesterday as kuya Lucas handled it," I was proud to defend my brothers in front of her. I've never done it before. No wonder she's so shocked.
