Few months passed by, it was now his graduation. Akala ko hindi kami magce-celebrate kasi naka-enroll na kasi siya sa medical program sa school namin para iwas 5 years of medical school. But I was wrong.

He was the eldest child of the Selena Mendez and Roberto Mendez, dapat may pagdiriwang na magaganap. I'm sure na proud na proud sila kay Kenneth. Who wouldn't be?

I was holding his medal which had a 'magna cum laude' engraved on it and the logo of Eastern Mossland. Ang galing niya. I felt so proud while watching him walked on the stage and took the medal. It's not everday that you get to achieve a magna cum laude.

"Bro, congrats. Ba't hindi nalang naging summa cum laude?" pang-aasar ni Jackson kasama si Althea. Both were also an achiever, cum laude. Couple goals, huh?!

Kenneth scoffed and playfully punched Jackson's back. "She'll achieve it for me," he kissed my temple and I immediately frowned. Summa cum laude? I think I'm gonna pass. Supa Hard Pass, bro. Asa pa ako. Simpleng Calculus, Algebra, Statistics o kahit ano pang branches ng Math e hindi ko kayang buhatin, pagiging summa cum laude pa kaya? Ayokong masaktan pride ko bhie.

"Sus, MCL nalang para couple goals din," Althea winked at me. They were taking pictures with their other mates kaya naman nakaupo lang ako. He was still beside me, feeling exhausted already.

"Ang galing naman," I was still in awe with their achievements. Next year, ako naman. Char, ang taas taas ng confidence ko ah, assuming. Hehehe

"Next year, we would celebrate yours," Zenaida patted my back. We were still inside the stadium. A lot of graduating students were taking photos as this would be their last.

"Next year pa naman," I told them.

"pupunta talaga kami," I hope so. Napangiti nalang ako sa kanila dahil ayaw ko masira ang mood nila. Sa sinabi ko palang, nakita ko na ang nakatatakang mukha ni Kenneth.

Sabi nga nila, pinakamagandang achievement is fulfilling your journey in school. Cherish the moments with your friends, blockmates, classmates, fieldmates and even with your teachers—kahit alam niyo na, mga teachers talaga—kasi sa isang iglap, mawawala 'yon.

Although graduation seemed like the ending, it's only the beginning of something new. Graduation is when you get to feel the taste of happiness and sorrow at the same time. I could not explain it but when I saw them crying, alam kong masakit talaga.

Leaving the familiar place, familiar faces na gumagabay sa'yo, na nandoon para sa'yo, could be overwhelming. Thinking that one day, I'll leave this place and the staffs who helped me through. No worries, I will come back to this place, from time to time. College was already a big part of my life kahit echosera.

"Picture ka rin with them," I told him kasi nakahiga lang siya sa thighs ko. I was hitting his chest kasi ayaw niyang bumangon. He pouted and didn't move.

"Babe, tinatawag ka nila," I pointed at Jackson who was waving both of his hands to me. I just shook my head kasi hindi parin bumangon si Kenneth.
