Alejandro's POV

Nang umalis na si Kana ay agad ko namang tiningnan si Logan. Ako ang maghahatid kay Logan ngayon dahil medyo late gumising ang asawa ko. Pano ba naman kasi, may nakalimutan siya. Hindi ko man lang nagawang tulungan siya dahil naging busy din ako. Pasensya na talaga mahal. Code purple kasi. Sobrang daming pasyente tapos 'yung mga relatives pa nila, halos isang baranggay.

Dali-dali kong hinatid si Logan nang mag-text si Kayla sa'kin. Emergency ulit. Ewan ko ba, nagkasunod-sunod ang mga emergency ngayon. Delikado para samin. 

Depotssa, andito si Nicole. "Why are you here?" I was exhausted and I have another scheduled surgery but then she was already sitting inside my office. She made herself comfortable there. Uggghh.

"I have something to say," sabi niya kaya naman napagtanto ako na sabihan si Kayla na walang pwedeng pumasok sa opisina hanggang sa makalabas si Nicole. Kung malalaman 'to ni Kana, paniguradong magagalit siya. 

"Uhm...I don't know how to start...I want Logan back," she directly told me without any stutter. Nabitawan ko ang cellphone. My eyes shot open and there was no sign of antok and pagod. Nawala lahat dahil sa sinabi niya. Char. She has the audacity to wanting Logan after that? May goodness!! Lord, tabang!

"Have you ever thought of my wife and I never agreeing to your sudden decision?" sinisiguron ko na hindi niya makukuha si Logan. Makakasama man niya pero hindi pwedeng sa kaniya na siya. Eh hindi naman bagay ang anak ko para sabihin niyang I want Logan back. Sabagay, may sariling desisyon ang anak ko. 

"Of course. What do you think of me, stupid?"

"Yes, dense, simple-minded, witless, at kung ano-ano pang terms na pwedeng gamitin. Mas matalino pa ang baboy kaysa sa'yo."

"Pagbigyan mo na kasi ako. I just want my son back. 14 years were enough for him to be with you at that witch,"

"Hoy! Anong witch? Ikaw kaya tong bruha! Don't you have any manners, woman? Seriously, anong nakita ko sa'yo noon?" she went silent and I had to clear my throat to ease the atmosphere. It's not like it wasn't true. I don't like it when people disrespects my wife. 

"Logan is not a thing, Nicole. 14 years were enough for him to be with us? Are you kidding? Ano yon? Trial? Ano kami, nursery home assigned to raise Logan so you could take him when he's a teenager? Are you still capable of thinking properly? Does your brain have phlegm?" sunod-sunod na rant ko sa kaniya dahilan para manatili siyang tahimik. Slow talaga. It took her a while to process everything and then she reacted quite, expectedly. 

"I did not say that! You know why I left him to you—"

"I never knew your reason Nicole! You cannot say that I know it when you left him outside the door as if we're in an animated film! Ang talino mo! Sobra!" pasigaw ko ring tugon sa kaniya habang hinahaplos ang mukha. Haggard na nga ako dahil sa trabaho ko, dumagdag pa ang damulag na'to. Excuse me, this face must rest and have peace. 

She stayed quiet and felt emotional as her tears gathered at the corners of her eyes. I couldn't speak anymore. Despite my anger, I shouldn't raise my voice inside the hospital. I shouldn't raise my voice to a woman.
