CHAPTER 35: STRENGHT

||3RD POV||

They lined up as the whistle blew and yelled in sync, "Let's play!" As Ukai was discussing the plan with the others, she took out the black tape and wrapped it around her finger with a blank face. They all went onto the court and she walked passed the giant who didn't notice her until she was crouching as she narrowed her eyes at him. Karasuno focused their gazes on the tall male on the other side of the net, their aura turned slightly dark. Tsukishima was the first one to serve and she glanced at him over her shoulder as she exclaimed, "Tsukishima, nice serve!"

The opposing player, Kaito Asamushi, received the ball and sent it towards their setter who tossed it to the giant named, Yudai Hyakuzawa. Kageyama, Hinata and herself readied to block, they jumped and she realized that they didn't match at all, cursing silently, she stretched her hand out as she tried to block it. Her fingertips grazed the ball as he spiked it over them and Hinata along with Kageyama realized what happened. No one from behind saved it and Kakugawa High gained the point. 

Her fingers twitched a bit as she felt frustration enter her veins, Ukai noticed how her facial expression got darker and angrier. He watched how she barred her teeth lightly as she continued to play. The same happened from before, the ball slightly grazed her fingertips but Nishinoya received it but it was slightly off. She raised her arms and yells as she sends a toss towards Hinata, "Hinata, get the last!" She watches how he jumped and Hyakuzawa's ars were taller than the others, meaning, the ball could get caught.

Her eyes narrowed as she watched how Hinata's dunk got caught by his hands and dived for the ball, she swore as she missed it by an inch, "Shit." She got up from the floor as the whistle went off and Hinata apologized with his head slightly bowed, "Sorry! The ball was a little low." She pats his head as she reassured, "Don't worry about it." The rest also reassured him and he determinedly yelled, "Yes!" She raised a brow at Kageyama who was wiggling his finger slightly, which caught Hinata's attention a well, "What the heck?"

She looked over his shoulder and asked with a teasing yet amused look, "Why are you moving your fingers like a pervy old man?" She shrank back with Hinata as he glared at them over his shoulder and he calmly looked back at his hands with a calm look, they glanced at each other before looking at the ravenette male. Anyhow, the game continued and she slammed the ball against one of the blocker's fingers and she watched how the ball went up in the air, above the net.

Hinata was about to push the ball into their side but Hyakuzawa already pushed the ball in their side, she watched the ball with blank eyes but in low motion, her body moved as she dove for it and it touched her fingertips but it bounced sideways instead of upwards. Hurriedly, she got up and went back to her position as the opposing team served. Nishinoya raised his arms as he yelled while he and Asahi moved out of the way, "Out!" Boredly, she sighed as she heard her teammates yell. Kageyama was about to serve and calmly, she moved her hand behind her back and gave him a sign to which he grinned.

The referee blew the whistle while motioning that he can serve, he threw the ball into the air and did a jump serve which caused the libero to fall back a bit from the ball as he received it. She watched how they tossed the ball to Hyakuzawa and jumped up with Hinata and Daichi but the ball went passed the blockers as he curved the ball slightly. She stood next to Daichi who was slightly wide-eyed and he sheepishly stated, "I see... We're gonna have to do something about that." She nodded before walking away with a thinking expression on her face, her teeth had her bottom lip between them as she held her chin in her fingers.

Takeda called a time out and they circled Ukai as he talked to them, her eyes flickered to the opposing team and she looked away as Hyakuzawa stared at her. After talking to them, Kiyoko started giving out water bottles and towels. Sheepishly, she smiled as she thanked the female as she took the items from her and started drinking the liquid while wiping the sweat off of her neck. She heard Hinata complain a bit as he rubbed the sweat off of his neck, "No matter how I jump, he keeps hitting from above me. What do I do?"
