CHAPTER 23: ARRIVAL

||3RD POV||

Almost a month later, she was still having meetings throughout the day, today, she had at least about six or seven meetings and she just finished one. Currently, she was staring out of the window as she was in a daze and didn't notice how someone entered the boarding room. She sighs as she heard a chair spin and looks over her shoulder, her friend was acting silly to make her smile. She bit back one when she felt her lips twitch, "Toshi, what are you doing?" He paused and looks at her with narrowed eyes, his voice was serious as he asked, "What do you think I'm doing?"

She shakes her head at him as she answered with a grin before looking out of the window again, "Being a fool is what you're being at the moment." Toshi looked at her offended but he knew that she was right since that he was trying to be an idiot to cheer her up. He got off of the chair while chuckling, she turned around and smiled softly as they walked out of the quiet room. A few days ago, she got her final results back and got full marks on her tests. She wasn't surprised at all since she was used to it but others always seemed to be surprised when she tells them that she got full marks and didn't even bother studying for it.

She was currently in a cafe with Toshi who was rambling to her about something that happened to him when he was Rome. She took sips from her coffee as she occasionally nods her head at him, he noticed how she got a bit distracted after a few minutes and asked with a pout, "Did you even listen to me when I was telling you what happened in Rome?" She looks at him with a raised brow and stated in a blunt tone, "Nope. You know that I lose interest when you start to ramble for minutes or even hours." He sighs as a depressed aura surrounded him but he snapped out of it when he remembered something, "Oh yeah! Don't you have to get to that volleyball practice matches at Nekoma?"

She choked on her coffee as she remembered that, she swore loudly, "Fuck!" She placed the bill down and tugged Toshi as they both realized that they need to hurry. He ran off to get the car and she was tapping her heels against the ground as she started to get worried, soon, she saw his black matte colored Audi R8 pulled up in front of her and she opened the door. She got in and stated as she strapped herself in, "Step on it, Toshi!" Without hesitation, he revved the car and drove off, occasionally, he would drift around the corners since he was a race driver a few years ago.

She got used to how he drove when he's in a hurry so she didn't have to hold onto anything, she looked at the back seat and noticed her duffle bag. She raised a brow as she asked, "Where did my duffle bag come from?" He laughed as he remembered how he got it, he explained with a large grin as he got onto the highway, "Well, your brother came in today to give you this but since you were busy with a meeting, he gave it to me. That's why I remembered that you have this event on because I saw your bag in the back." She shakes her head as she imagined how her brother looked since he finished his exams and yet he came to give her stuff even if he only had an hour of sleep in his system.

She smiles at the thought and laughed softly, they turn on the radio and she leaned back into her seat as she listened to the music. She hums to the song that was currently playing on the radio, she made herself comfy and they both hummed to it. Toshi glanced at her as he drove on the highway, she looked out of the window with a tired look and his voice reached her ears, "Its best that you catch up some sleep..." She hums in agreement and he leaned back as he got his jacket for her, she took it and draped over her figure. Slowly, she started to fall asleep with a peaceful expression on her face.

Toshi held onto the wheel with his one hand as he was awake, alone but the music kept him company throughout the ride. His thoughts started running off to the marriage that his parents arranged for him, he was furious when he found out. He made a promise to himself years back when he met her for the first time; 'I want her as my wife. I can promise myself that would come true.' That was the promise from when he saw the brunette at a meeting with his father, he still remembered how his younger self fell in love with how calm and composed she was.
