Should I like him like this?
San smiled as he watched his best friend Hongjoong run up to him embracing him in a tight hug. "Hyung your gonna squish me" said San giggling. "Sorry Sannie. Can you help me pick the strawberries again?" Asked Hongjoong. "Sure hyungie" said San excitedly as they ran to the strawberry patches in the field under a cover. San is 9 and his best friend Hongjoong is 10. The two were always seen with eachother. If you saw one the other would most likely be nearby. The two did everything together from homework to strawberry picking and even sleeping in the same bed. The two lived on neighbouring farms and always helped eachother out. Their parents were good friends which made it easier to hang out.
San felt butterflies in his stomach as Hongjoong intertwined their fingers dragging him to where they kept the baskets for strawberry picking. San didn't know why he felt like this. His heart would speed up if Hongjoong held his hand, hugged him or kissed his cheek and especially when they cuddled in bed. San decided he would ask his older brother Seonghwa later. Once they had finished picking strawberries Hongjoong thanked him and walked him home. "Thanks hyung see you soon" said San as he hugged Hongjoong goodbye. "Bye Sannie" said Hongjoong as he left to go home. San smiled and walked inside going to his brothers room. "Seonghwa hyung can I ask you something?" Asked San.
"Sure San what is it" said Seonghwa. "Is it possible to have a crush on a boy?" Asked San. Seonghwas head shot up at that question. "A boy" said Seonghwa and San nodded. "Yeah whenever I'm around him my heart speeds up and whenever he kisses my cheek or holds my hand I get butterflies in my stomach" said San oblivious, not realising that he had now indicated to his brother that he was gay. "I-i don't know... Come on teas ready" said Seonghwa quickly changing the subject. San frowned but followed his brother downstairs for dinner.
~2 Years later~
"Hyung you dyed your hair" said San as he entered Hongjoong's house with his suitcase. "Yep now it's a strawberry colour" said Hongjoong happily. San was now 11 and Hongjoong 12, a few months after San talked to Seonghwa his school had a lesson explaining sexualities and that's when San realised he was gay. Although the teacher said it was normal and okay he still heard some of his classmates make rude remarks about so San decided he would keep it a secret. Although it had been two years San still liked Hongjoong only now it had just increased and now he reckons that he's in love with the elder. "Well since I'm blond I'm going to call it strawberry blond" said San.
"Okay Sannie...almost ready" said Hongjoong. San nodded and pointed to his suitcase. The two were going into the city to visit Hongjoong's grandma. Originally Hongjoong was going alone but since he didn't want to be alone he picked his best friend to go with him and San gladly agreed. Once the two had finished packing their parents had said goodbye and they hopped on a bus making their way into the city. San smiled as Hongjoong fell asleep on his shoulder. Once San could see the city in sight he woke Hongjoong up who knew his way. Once the bus arrived they got off and made a ten minute walk to the hotel they would be staying at for the night before continuing to Hongjoong's grandma's house.
"Wow this room is so cool" said Hongjoong as he stepped inside putting his luggage to the side with San copying the elder. San blushed as he noticed that there was only one bed realising they would get to cuddle. "Look there's a TV Sannie" said Hongjoong excited. San smiled and picked the elder up flying him around in the air loving the giggles the elder made. Although Hongjoong was elder San still has a bigger build then him and was taller and stronger. "Sannie let's cuddle it's getting late" said Hongjoong as San placed him back down. San blushed and agreed before climbing into after getting changed bed. San wore jogging bottoms and a baggy shirt and waited for Hongjoong to come out.
San blushed as he saw what Hongjoong was wearing. "Hyung that's my hoodie" said San. "Mine now" said Hongjoong as he crawled onto the bed and got under the covers with San. "Yah do you have anything on under that?" Asked San blushing. "Boxers of course" said Hongjoong. The two cuddled up and watched a bit of TV. "Hyung how would you feel if a friend of mine has a crush on you?" Asked San. "What's she like?" Asked Hongjoong. "What if it was a he?" Asked San. "Then what's he like" said Hongjoong. "Your not bothered that it's a male" said San. "No why are you?" Asked Hongjoong frowning. "No...You make him happy. He loves you alot but is worried that if you don't like him back then it will ruin your friendship" said San.
"I know him" said Hongjoong receiving a nod from San. "Well even if I didn't like him back I would still be friends with them" said Hongjoong. "What if that boy Is me?" Asked San refusing to look at the elder. A moment of silence came and San couldn't help but allow a few tears to escape. "Well if that boy is you then I'd ask you why you love me?" Asked Hongjoong. "Do you remember when I first came to high school and I stopped that boy from making you uncomfortable..." Said San as he remembered it.
*Flashback*
"Sannie" said Hongjoong as he ran up to San jumping into his arms. "Hyung I'm in highschool nowwww" said San as he hugged the elder tightly. "Yep please sit with me and my friends at lunch" said Hongjoong and San nodded happily.
*At lunchtime*
"Who's that?" Asked San as he watched some boy flirting with Hongjoong even though he could see the elder clearly wasn't comfortable. "That's Heonkeon he has a massive crush on Hongjoong but Hongjoong doesn't like him. He always touches Hongjoong and makes him uncomfortable so usually we have to threaten him to back away" said Wooyoung, Hongjoong's friend. San smirked and walked over. "Baby" said San as he hugged Hongjoong from behind. Hongjoong turned around and sighed in relief as he saw it was San. "Sannie" said Hongjoong as he stood up and hugged him back. "I thought you were gonna sit with me babyboy" said San. "I'll come over now" said Hongjoong blushing.
San smiled and glared at Heonkeon. "Just over there where Woo is" said San as Hongjoong happily skipped off to the other table where Wooyoung sat grinning. "You touch my baby and make him uncomfortable again and I will show you what hell feels like. Understand" said San as he gripped Heonkeons jaw tightly glaring at him. "Y-yes" stuttered Heonkeon as he pushed San away and ran off. San smiled and went over to Hongjoong and his friends. "You okay hyung?" Asked San. "Thank you Sannie" said Hongjoong as he hugged San tightly. "It's okay hyung. No one hurts or makes my joongie hyung uncomfortable" said San.
*End of flashback*
"I did that because I didn't want anyone to hurt or touch the person I love the most" said San. "Wooyoung wouldn't stop teasing me about you calling me baby or babyboy for ages after that" said Hongjoong as he remembered it. "I love you because... You're beautiful, you have a brilliant personality, you're talented and smart, you've always been there for me, I love being around you because it's always so peaceful and you mean so much to me... I don't want to lose that" said San as a few more tears fell down his face. Even Hongjoong was in tears as he heard what San said about him. Hongjoong smiled and straddled Sans lap carefully moving sans jaw so he could look at him. "You'll never lose me Sannie" said Hongjoong as he connected their foreheads.
"I love you hyung" said San as more tears fell. "I love you too" said Hongjoong as he kissed San on the lips innocently. "You love me" said San happily. Hongjoong nodded and kissed Sans forehead. "Then...will you be my boyfriend?" Asked San. "I'd love to be your boyfriend Sannie" said Hongjoong. The two kissed softly which looked like just a peck but for them it was magical and meant alot. The two smiled and lay down in bed cuddled up glad that now they could call eachother theirs.

Perhaps when San is sixteen and Hongjoong is seventeen and their hormones start playing up and they decide to take the next step in their relationship? (P.s the legal age to have sex or any sexual activity is 16 in my country)
