The one who forgot
Mingi smiled as he looked through the shop. Today was valentine's Day so Mingi was going to do something special for him and Hongjoong. Mingi placed a tube of rose petals in the basket and picked up some candles some with Hongjoong's favourite scent and some with his. Vanilla for Mingi and cherries for Hongjoong, a weird combination but it always worked. Mingi once asked Hongjoong why he liked the cherry scent and the elder replied saying that it reminded him how good Mingi looked in certain cherry coloured clothes. Mingi had smiled and replied with the scent of vanilla sometimes made him think of when the two had vanilla sex. Mingi smiled after picking up some other things and headed to the counter and paying.
Mingi headed home smiling as he glanced in the bag excited for later. Once he got back he smiled as he saw Yunho and Seonghwa having a date in their room. Mingi said a quick hello and apologised for interrupting before heading to his and Hongjoong's shared room. Since he knew Hongjoong wouldn't get home until about 7 he decided to put the stuff to the side before going to see if Wooyoung and Jongho needed any help in the kitchen. Once the dinner was ready Mingi went and got Yeosang and San to join them as they had tea together. "When's Hongjoong hyung coming home?" Asked San. "He said 7" said Mingi. "Looks like we'll be hearing Mingi later" said Wooyoung. "Oh shush" said Mingi embarrassed but also excited.
The rest laughed and the five chatted for the rest of the evening until Mingi excused himself at 6.20 to go get ready. Mingi giggled excitedly as he shut the bedroom door and got the things out the bag. 4 Cherry candles, 4 Vanilla candles, rose petals, led fairy lights, silk bed set, a teddy bear, card and outfit. Mingi smiled as he hurried to change the sheets and duvet into the silk one he'd bought which made it more romantic/sexy. Next he set up the fairy lights and turned them on so they shine red and turned off the bedroom light so it lit up red making it even more romantic. Next he set up the candles carefully around the bed on cute stools giving off a relaxing scent. Mingi covered the floor and edges of the bed in rose petals.
Mingi quickly wrote the card and left it on the bed with the teddy whilst he went to get changed. The rest smirked as they peeked in the room whilst Mingi was in the bathroom. "Hongjoong won't be able to resist him" said Jongho. "He's done a good job" said Yunho proud. Mingi cleaned himself and used some lube to stretch himself ready for Hongjoong. Once he was stretched he slipped on some black lace tight shorts that hugged his figure but also didn't show too much. He then slipped on a black silk dressing gown over the top and did his hair and makeup. Once he was satisfied he walked back in the room and lay comfortably on the bed with the teddy and card in his arms whilst the room created a romantic feel.
Mingi checked his phone and sighed in relief as he saw it was 6.55 meaning he wasn't late. Mingi could feel himself get excited as his phone showed that it was seven o'clock.
~3 hours later~
Mingi cried as he saw the last candle melt into a puddle of wax. Hongjoong still hadn't come home and Mingi had finally given up on waiting. Three hours earlier Mingi had been so excited but no he wanted nothing more then to fall asleep and pretend he didn't get stood up on valentine's Day by his boyfriend who was probably asleep in his studio which was literally the floor below. Mingi got changed into some comfortable pyjamas and sweeped all the rose petals to the side. Luckily everyone else was asleep so Mingi put the petals and candles in the bin. Mingi put the card and teddy in the draw not wanting to look at it and turned off the fairy lights. Mingi turned off the bedroom light and hugged his pillow allowing the tears to stream down his face.
Mingi felt pathetic, worthless, disappointed, sad and mainly unwanted. What hurt the most was that Hongjoong never texted him with an excuse or reason as Mingi called it as to why he hadn't come home. Mingi knew work was important but lately he felt that work was more important then him. Hongjoong would probably rather be in the studio then with him. After a while Mingi fell asleep exhausted emotionally and mentally.
~In the morning~
"I'm surprised we didn't hear Mingi last night" said Wooyoung. "Same" said Yeosang. Just then a tired looking Mingi walked in the Kitchen. "You look tired something exhausting happen last night?" Asked Seonghwa making the rest giggle. Mingi frowned and didn't answer. Then Hongjoong walked in the front door. Everyone looked between the two confused. Mingi walked up to Hongjoong and kissed him softly. "Morning hyung" said Mingi. "Morning baby" said Hongjoong unaware of the glare he was receiving from Yunho. Hongjoong walked in and sat at the table confused as to why everyone was staring at him. Mingi made two drinks and gave Hongjoong one and sitting down drinking the other.
"So Hongjoong what did you do last night?" Asked Yunho in a deep voice clearly unhappy. "I had a brainstorm and managed to complete three of the songs for the new album" said Hongjoong proud. "That's great" said Mingi. The others looked at the two in disbelief. "Mingi what did you do last night?" Asked Jongho also clearly unhappy. Mingi gulped and said "I went to sleep of course". "Hongjoong do you remember what I told you when you and Mingi got together?" Asked Yunho. "Yes... You said that if I ever hurt Mingi then you'll hurt me" said Hongjoong confused. "What day was it yesterday hyung?" Asked Wooyoung. "The 14th of February?" Said Hongjoong still confused. Mingi couldn't help but let a tear out at his boyfriends answer.
Mingi stood up and rushed to his room. "What's going on?" Asked Hongjoong. "WHATS GOING ON?" Repeated Yunho angrily slamming his fists on the table. "DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME" shouted Hongjoong. "DON'T RAISE MY VOICE... THEN STOP HURTING MY BEST FRIEND. YESTERDAY WAS VALENTINE'S DAY AND MINGI SET UP THE ROOM ROMANTICALLY FOR WHEN YOU GOT HOME. BUT GUESS WHAT HE ENDED UP FALLING ASLEEP ALONE THREE HOURS LATER BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T FUCKING SHOW UP AND THEN YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO WALK IN HERE THIS MORNING AND ACT LIKE NOTHINGS HAPPENED" Shouted Yunho. Yeosang showed him the picture of the room from when they peeked in.
Hongjoong looked at the picture guiltily and hung his head shamefully as tears streamed down his face. Seonghwa took Yunho to the living room to calm him down whilst San and Jongho went to check on Mingi. Yeosang and Wooyoung sat at the table with a crying Hongjoong. "What am I gonna do?" Sobbed Hongjoong. "Perhaps you can make it up to him but first you need to apologise to him" said Yeosang. "We'll help you hyung. I know you regret it and you want to make it up to him. He's delicate hyung, you know Mingi hyung, he's always putting on a brave cover but underneath he's quite fragile which is why Yunho hyung is so protective of him" said Wooyoung. "Thank you guys... I'll go talk to him now and apologise" said Hongjoong.
The two nodded and watched as Hongjoong walked towards Mingis room.
"C-can I talk to him alone please" said Hongjoong. Jongho and San hesitantly left the room shutting the door behind. Hongjoong crawled onto the bed and spooned Mingi from behind. "I'm so sorry baby" said Hongjoong as he broke down in tears. "It's fine I know work is important" said Mingi coldly. "Work is important to me yes but you mean the world to me. I love you so so much. I should of come home and I should of remembered valentine's Day and I should of been a better boyfriend" said Hongjoong. "But you didn't... I just miss you so fucking much. You're never fucking home and I can't even remember the last time we got intimate" said Mingi tears threatening to fall.
