Lena was gushing as she flitted around the dress shop. She was trying to help me find the 'perfect' homecoming dress.

See here is what happened.

I was nominated for homecoming queen. I don't know who did it but I was.

I was sitting casually in the cafeteria with Elliot and Gray and a guy who had just started hanging out with us, Mason. Mason was sweet, 6'1" with shaggy auburn hair and emerald eyes. Mr. Robertson, the vice principal stood on a chair and coughed to get everyone's attention.

"I am here to announce the homecoming court!" He yelled. Everyone quieted down and stared at him. "For our kings, we have Brookes Moore, Liam Evans, Jason Greene, Michael Larson, and Elliot White." I didn't know who jason or Michael were, but it was cool that I had four friends who were nominated. "And our nominated Queens are, Elena Wilson, Marnie Morgan, Ally Martin, Leila Phipps, and, wow this is surprising, well Lux Evans!" Well that was rude.

But hey, that's cool. A bunch of girls congratulated me in the hallways.

After all of my classes that day, I met Liam by our lockers.

"Hey Lux, how weird would it be if you got queen and your brother got King?" I heard Miles ask. I glared at him. Liam groaned.

"I swear if that happens in surrendering the crown." Liam said, "I'm not dancing with my babysister."

"Touché."

When we got home I called Lena.

"Hey, my dear," she said. It sounded like she was in a coffee shop, with a boy.

"I was nominated for queen."

"Homecoming? O-M-G luxy this is so exciting!!! I'm going to be at your house in twenty minutes you better be ready to shop.

I have to give the girl credit, she made it from her dorms (a 25 minute drive usually) in fifteen minutes. She had run into my house screaming and when I got into my living room she was jumping up and down.

I swear she has some mental issues if she is this excited about homecoming. She hugged me and dragged me from my home and into her car.

After a fifteen minute car ride to the dress shop, that brings us to now, where we have Lena flitting around the gorgeous dresses.

I'm keeping my eyes on the darker ones, where she wants me in something bright pink. I dragged my fingers along the racks of navy's and violets and blacks until I landed on the one.

The dress I would wear to homecoming.

"Lena come here!" I said pulling the dress off the rack.

It was gorgeous. It was a lighter navy color with silver rhinstones on the top, with a halter type design. The back had a giant circle out of it, which would expose my back from a couple inches below my shoulder to a couple inches above my hips. Under the rhinestones a gorgeous satiny navy color erupted from the rhinestones. It had multiple layers that went between satin and tulle which would result in it being quite poofy and flouncy when I wore it.

It would be short, but then again, apparently I'm a whore.

Lena took one look at it and screamed, drawing all the attention in the store to herself. I moaned. She dragged me to the dressing rooms.

I had to admit, it fit me perfectly. It wasn't big at all and it wasn't squeezing the life out of me. It went to about mid-thigh on me.

I carefully took it off, hung it back up, and put back on my dark skinny jeans, Rolling Stones tee shirt, and black converse high tops and walked out to the cash register. I payed for it quickly while the assistant carefully put it in the bag. Me and Lena left the store to go to the shoe store across the way.

I settled on some nice black four inch heels with some pretty silver rhinestones. I was going to pick some silver flats but Lena insisted I wear heels.

"Hey Len, you should go to homecoming with Brookesy."

"Haha, that's funny, he probably already asked someone."

"Actually he hasn't," I thought back to when he told me he wanted to ask Lena to homecoming but didn't know how. She kind of intimidated him.

"Really?"

"Are you blushing? Lena you're in loveeeee!"

"No I am not. Well, just don't tell Brookes."

"Dude I haven't told Brookes a lot of shit. You don't have to worry about it."

I pulled out my phone and shot Brookes a message.

Me: Brookesy you have to ask Lenaaaa!

Brookesy: luxxxy I already told you I don't know how!

Me: just come to my house in like twenty-some minutes. Then you can ask her with like... Cookies or something.

Brookesy: okay.

Let's just say they are happily going to homecoming together.

The next day I was surprised as well. Most of the football team was huddled around my locker, but miles strayed away.

"Hey lux," he said nonchalantly.

"Why are there fifteen boys huddling around my locker, Miles?"

"Awwww nothin." I glared.

"What is going on. You know I hate surprises." He shook his head. I shoved my way through the massive boys and was surprised at what I saw.

Gray was putting a sticker on my locker.

"Grayson Park? What exactly are you doing?" He turned around quickly.

"Oh, Lux, hey I wasn't expecting you to be let through for another five minutes." He shot a glare at his team.

"Well can you explain what you're doing at my locker?" He nodded and gestured for some people to walk up. Three of his teammates walked up, one who I recognized as jason Greene was holding at least ten balloons. The other two I didn't recognize but one was holding a giant box of donuts. The last one had a giant bouquet of like thirty roses. The one with the donuts opened the box. There was something written in it. I squinted to see what it read.

'Donut let me go to homecoming alone!'

It was cheesy but cute. I nodded my head and hugged Gray.

And that's how I landed my first date to a dance -or anywhere-, kids!
