"Oi," You hummed as a response, using a cloth to hold to your bleeding neck. "You can see my stand, can't you?"
"Your stand?" You asked in confusion, turning your head to face him. The cigarette in his mouth illuminated his face as he took a long drag before blowing the smoke past his lips.
"My 'evil spirit'." He added on. You slowly nodded. "Then you have one too. I guess it explains why you can glitch out everywhere."
"A stand? Jotaro what in the hell are you talking about?" You asked. You were extremely confused. He clicked his tongue before flicking the bud cigarette away as both of you entered his estate.
"I'll just have the old man explain. He can tell you better than I could." His eyes flicked to your neck. "Tch. Your neck is still bleeding."
"I-it's fine," You mumbled, tightening your grip on your bag. "I'll just put a bandaid on it or something." A scoff passed his lips, making you look up at him as the both of you removed your shoes.
"A bandaid isn't going to cover that, sweetheart." Your cheeks flared up. Did he just call you sweetheart?
Yo-you had to be hearing things.
"C'mon." He grabbed your wrist, dragging you into the living room.
"Jotaro, Y/n there you two are-Oh my goodness! Y/n are you okay?" Holly bounced from her seat and rushed over to you.
"I-i'm fine!" You assured. "It's just a cut." You removed the cloth.
"That may be, but it still looks a little deep. It needs properly dressed and cleaned." The redhead boy from earlier said, his voice sounding like honey in your ears. You looked at him, e/c eyes meeting purple ones. He gave a small smile and you felt your cheeks heat up once more.
H-he's cute...
"Stay right here Y/n," Holly said. "I'll get the first aid kit." Once she left the room, Jotaro spoke.
"She has a stand too,"
"She does?" Mr. Joestar looked over at you, as did Avdol. "Well don't just stand there, show us!"
"Uh.." You said, looking at Jotaro for help. The thing was he wasn't looking at you. He had his hat tilted over his eyes. "I..don't know what that is." You said, sheepishly rubbing your arm.
"A stand is a physical manifestation of your life energy. Take Jotaro's stand for example. He has extreme precision and a great amount of strength. My stand allows me to take photos thousands of miles away, although I have to destroy a 30,000 yen camera." Mr. Joestar rubbed his chin in thought. "We'll probably have to draw your stand out in order to be able to see it since you don't know how to summon it." His face lit up as he stood up. Your eyes widened and you gasped as four purple vines shot out at you. They took each of your limps, holding you in place.
"What the hell are you doing old man?" Jotaro said in surprise, standing up. Avdol held his arm out and pointed to you.
Standing beside you was a figure. It was blue and the areas around his hands and feet were black, then ombréd into the blue hue. The figure resembled a man's and his eyes were just areas of glowing light. They were narrowed as your image flickered and you now stood beside Jotaro, eyes widened and gripping his arm. Your stand was beside you, seeming to glare at Mr. Joestar. His arms were crossed over his chest and he glanced at you before Mr. Joestar's image also glitched out and he was now wrapped in his own vines against the wall.
"H-holy.." You squeezed Jotaro's arm, eyes lighting up as you watched your stand turn to you before disappearing.
"I'm back!" You unlatched yourself from Jotaro quickly as Holly entered the room.
Once your wounds were cleaned and you had clean bandages, you sat in the tea room with the men. Holly had retired to her room a while ago and you were between Jotaro and the redhead, who introduced himself as Noriaki Kakyoin. You held a hot cup of tea in your hands with a blanket draped over your shoulders. Jotaro had thrown it at you before anyone else had entered.
"So, this guy, Dio, has a grudge against your ancestry and wants to destroy your entire bloodline?" You asked slowly.
"Yes. We have to figure out a way to kill Dio before he kills us," Mr. Joestar explained to you. You nodded softly, pressing the cup against your lips and letting the hot liquid flow past your lips. You placed the cup on the table and looked at the older man.
"I'll help you then-"
"No," Jotaro said sharply, glaring at you in the corner of his eyes. "This isn't your fight."
"It is," You shot back. "If someone is threatening to murder my friend then they are practically threatening to murder me."
"I don't care," Jotaro snapped, startling you for a moment. "You aren't fighting him with us." A frown crawled over your features.
"Last time I checked you weren't my dad, Kujo," You replied sharply. He frowned when you used his last name and as you stood up. "I'm going whether you like it or not."
"Stop being so damn stubborn, bitch!" He yelled.
"Jotaro, enough!" Mr. Joestar said.
"Shut the hell up!" He turned to yell at you again only to see you walking from the room. You entered the living room, closing the door and plopping on your make-shift bed.
Who the hell did he think he is? You could do what you wanted! If you wanted to go, then you were going to go. You couldn't let anything happen to Jotaro. He was your best friend. Just the thought of something happening to him made your stomach swirl and your chest to tighten. Gripping your shirt above your heart, you felt tears prick at the corner of your eyes.
Why did you feel like this? Sure, Jotaro was your friend and you would be devastated if something bad were to happen to him, but this feeling was different. Why did you want to protect him so badly? Was it because he had always protected you? Because he was always by your side? Because he defended you?
Because he cared for you?
Your heart throbbed. Why? Why was he acting like that? It's like he was always ready to throw himself into danger, but as soon as you said something like that, he shot you down almost immediately. You just wanted to protect him dammit! Can't he see how badly you wanted to save him?
Can't he see how much you care?
