You were terrified.
It was three in the morning.
Kakyoin was asleep.
You locked yourself in the bathroom.
You were panicking.
At first, you had woken up in a cold sweat, thinking you had a nightmare.
That you killed someone.
But when you saw the bandages wrapped snugly around you, you knew it hadn't been a dream. You couldn't remember anything that had happened after killing 'Tadashi'. When you had woken, Kakyoin was already asleep, his arm draped protectively on your waist. You had slipped away and ran to the bathroom.
Your hands were shaking as you splashed water on your face, waking yourself up more. You held a towel against your face. It was fine. You just had to take deep breaths and relax. There wasn't a big reason you should be freaking out. He deserved what he got. You needed to pull yourself together. You were not a crybaby, so you needed to stop acting like one.
You flipped the light off and walked from the bathroom, pausing in the door as you saw Kakyoin sitting up and looking around. He turned on the lap before looking at you.
"There you are.." He mumbled tiredly.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to wake you up," You said quietly walking over to him. You sat down on the bed beside him.
"It's alright. How are you?" He asked softly. He brushed some hair from your face and tucked it behind your ear.
"I'm fine now. Thank you...for everything..I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't snapped from it." You frowned, placing your hand on your shoulder. "I already hurt Jotaro. I couldn't forgive myself if I had killed him, or you or Mr. Joestar or Polnareff either."
"Don't worry about it," Kakyoin smiled, nudging you with his elbow gently. "It's all over now, and no one is holding a grudge. It's in the past. So let's focus on the future, okay?" He said.
"Okay," I agreed.
"Good," He said, brushing his fingers along my cheek.
"Kakyoin," I said suddenly. "Why do care so much about making sure I'm okay? I mean, since we became friends, its like I have another Jotaro..but not Jotaro. You're a lot sweeter than him. And you actually care about how I feel. And I'm ranting. I'm sorry." I said, laughing nervously. Kakyoin chuckled.
"I care about you because I like you. You're a sweet person, not to mention you've got a great personality." He said.
"Really?" You asked. "I think I have a shitty personality," You mumbled.
"Well, I don't." Kakyoin said.
"Hey," You said, turning to look at him. "Do you still remember our promise?"
"Of course I do." Kakyoin grinned.
"Good." You hummed. "I'm still counting on you to buy me mochi."
"You know, since you made me make a promise, I think its fair I made you make a promise." He said, making you raise an eyebrow at him questioningly.
"Okay," You said slowly, dragging the word out. "What is It?"
He raised both hands and cupped your cheeks, making your face instantly turn cherry red.
"Promise me that you won't be reckless anymore. I'd hate to get mochi by myself you know," He said softly.
"Kak.." You whispered, frowning at the sad look in his eyes. "I said I hated when people broke promises, remember? So why would I?" He smiled slightly.
There was something different when you were with Kakyoin. The feeling you got with him was similar to the one you had felt towards Jotaro. Like no matter how many times you had seen him, it always made your stomach flutter. You liked the way his voice sounded whenever he spoke to you. It was always calming and never aggressive. The thought that you had fallen for his charm had passed over you, and for a moment you wanted to deny it, but you knew there wasn't a use to. You liked him.
So when he began to lean in, you met him halfway, slightly surprising him. Your hands laced into his hair. The red strands were silky, messed up from his past sleeping. He pulled away gently, his cheeks flushed pink. You felt high. The kiss had made butterflies swarm in your stomach, and you felt giddy. You were happy. His eyes widened in surprise when you kissed him again. His hands dropped to your sides, and you grabbed his hair.
You didn't know why you were acting like this. After every kiss, you wanted more. You didn't even realize what was happening until Kakyoin pulled away again, both of you panting heavily. His eyes were dilated as he looked at you, only growing by the second.
"Fuck," He whispered, dipping down and burying his head in your neck. Both of you eventually just stayed there, holding each other comfortingly. Neither of you said anything. You just stayed there.
"Let's go back to bed." You whispered, running your hands through his hair. "God knows we'll be up early so we can get going."
"Yeah," He said, laying back. You placed your head on his chest as he turned the lamp off. His arms circled around you and held you close.
It had been an hour and you still couldn't sleep. You wanted to toss and turn, to maybe help tire you out, but you were afraid of waking the redhead sleeping soundly beside you. Kakyoin seemed like a light sleeper, so you didn't want to risk waking him up. Again. So you just stared at the wall, tapping your fingers on the blanket.
You had been attacked by a stand. Jotaro and you made out. You got attacked by another stand. Jotaro and you made out again. You almost died. Multiple times. You found someone who was impersonating your dead brother. Your stand freaked out and took control of your body. You killed someone. You and Kakyoin made out.
Man, a lot of shit has happened so far, and you aren't even halfway there yet.
