The hardest part of leaving Singapore was saying goodbye to Anne. She had begged you to stay just a little longer--until her father arrived. Something told you that if you did stay until her father came, you'd be there for a long time. But either way, you all said your goodbyes, and after one final hug to the girl, your train tickets were bought and you wede heading off once more. You sat against the window, staring off at the passing scenery.
"Finally," Polnareff sighed, relaxing in his seat. "We're heading to India. By the way, whatever happened to that girl?"
"She stayed back in Singapore," You said, plucking a small strawberry from your fruit plate and popping in your mouth. "She said she was meeting her dad tomorrow."
"After all, thats what she came to Singapore for in the first place," Avdol said. However, you felt that wasnt the last you were going to see of Anne.
As all of you relaxed, some settling down into slumber, you couldn't help but be ansty. You didn't know why, but you were just couldn't sit still. Maybe getting up and walking around would help? You looked over at Mr. Joestar who was talking in a low voice to not wake the others. It seemed like him and Avdol were discussing something important by the serious looks on their faces. Mr. Joestar looked over at you when you said his name, now having his attention.
"Im going to walk around a little. I can't sleep." You said, standing up.
"May I come with you? I can't sleep either," You looked at Kakyoin with surprise. You didn't even know he was awake. You nodded, and with the permission of Mr. Joestar, you and Kakyoin started your walk around the train.
"How are your injuries?" Kakyoin asked as you slid open a door.
"Oh, they're fine." You said. "Just a few scrapes. Nothing to worry about," You shot him a smile.
"That's good." It was silent for a moment before something caught your eye out the window.
"Hey, Kakyoin, do you see that?" You asked, walking towards the window.
"See what?" He asked, following you.
"Right there...there's something hanging off the train." You said, a frown coming across your face. What could it have been? An animal? A lost piece of fabric? Well, whatever it was, it spiked your curiosity.
"Oh, I see it now." Kakyoin said. You tapped your chin in thought. An idea spread in your mind when you saw a conductor walk by.
"Excuse me!" You said, gaining his attention. "What's that hanging off the train?" The conductor walked over and peered out of the window.
"What are you talking about? There's nothing there." He said, shaking his head. "Maybe you need some sleep." You looked at him in confusion as he walked away.
"You saw it though, right?" You asked, turning to the red-head, who nodded woth confusion on his face too.
"Y/n.." He said in realization. "If we can see it, and no one else can.."
Your eyes widened. "You think its a stand?"
"Its a possibility." He said. "It wouldn't be a surprise if it was. Like Mr. Joestar said before, we were going to be attacked left and right."
"But its not attacking us right now," You said. You bit your lip in thought before an idea sprung up. "Here, make sure I don't fall."
"Wha-"
He was cut off by you opening the window. Making sure there were no poles coming close, you stuck your upper half out of the window. You heard Kakyoin say something in protest, but you just ignored it. You leaned over to look at whatever was hanging on the train.
It was a damn sock.
A sock.
You were hanging out of a train window to look at a sock.
You sighed and started moving back to go inside of the train when something grabbed hold of your wrist and yanked it away from the window. A startled yelp passed over your lip as your arm was yanked out. The fabric around your wrist matched the one of the sock, making you turn your head to look at where it was. The fabric was stretched out and hanging onto both you and the train.
"Y/n, what's going on?" Kakyoin asked.
"Its got my wrist!" You said, tugging on the fabric. "Grab my waist so I dont fall," You called over your shoulder, glancing at him. He seemed hesitant, but put his hands on your hips to steady you. You heard a faint bell sound, and when you turned your head, you saw a flashing light post. You're eyes widened when you realized that your arm was going ti be taken off by it.
"Shit!" You yelled, tugging harder on your wrist. A slew of curses left your lips as you panicked, trying to free your arm from the sock. Your stand formed just seconds before you were going to get your arm taken off. But as soon as he grabbed the sock, you saw something flash away from it and it went limp in his grasp. He flickered away and you felt something wrap around your torso and yanked you back through the window. You hit your head off the top and fell back on your butt.
"Ow!" You said, rubbing the back of your head while glaring at your stand who was standing beside Kakyoin. "Couldn't you have done it a little gentler?"
"Ro.." He said, crossing his arms over his chest. You rolled your eyes.
"Are you okay?" Kakyoin asked, extending his hand.
"Yeah." You said, allowing him to pull you to your feet. "It was a stand," You rubbed your wrist as Atlantis disappeared behind you. "It looked like a sock, but when Altantis grabbed it there was this little light and then it became like a normal sock."
"Hmm..it sounds like the stand is able to take control of objects." Kakyoin said, looking around. "Which means, anything in this train could be the stand."
