When you had returned to town after Polnareff killed Centerfold, you had been informed that Avdol had been placed in a SpeedWagon Foundation Hospital. Once you reached town, walking beside Kakyoin, you were immediately spotted by Jotaro and Mr. Joestar. You didn't even get to say hello before Jotaro grabbed you.

"What the hell happened?" He demanded. You pushed him away with your good arm, taking a step back.

"We helped Polnareff," You said. "Its just a few scrapes."

"A few scrapes my ass!" He yelled, making your eyes widen. "You look like you got put through a shredder!"

"When the hell did you start caring about me so much?" You shot back, eyes narrowing into thin slits. When he didn't answer, you scoffed and pushed past him.

"Y/n, come with me. We'll get your injuries looked at," Mr. Joestar said. You walked to him, and he put his hand on your shoulder as he led you away. You glanced over at your shoulder, catching Jotaro lighting up a cigarette. "Don't worry about him," Mr. Joestar said.

"Im not." You mumbled.

..

You collasped on your bed, sprawling out on the soft sheets with a relieved sigh. How long was it since you slept last? You knew it hadn't been that long, but you were beyond exhausted. Honestly, you didn't think your body could handle much more of this. You were still recovering from the last attack, then you plunged yourself right back in the next one.

You seriously had to start thinking these kinda things through.

You buried your face into your pillow, throwing your casted arm up to rest beside you. With a heavy sigh, you closed your eyes to sleep. Then, someone knocked in your door.

"GODDAMMIT!" You yelled into the pillow. Rolling off the bed, you grumbled as you walked to your door and swung it open. "What the-" You stopped when your eyes landed on soft purple ones. "Oh, hi Kak." You said, straightening up.  "You need something?"

His shocked face turned into an amused one as he chuckled quietly at your mood change. "I was wondering if I could come in and talk to you?"

"Oh sure," You said, leaving the door open for him. You sat down on the bed, folding your legs under you as Kakyoin closed the door behind him. "So what did you want to talk about?"

"First, I wanted to ask about your injuries." He said, pointing to your cast as he sat on the foot of the bed. "How are they?"

"Oh, they're fine. My arm's broke, and I have a slight concussion, but other than that, I'll be fine. Most of them were just small cuts and brusies from the rocks." You said, looking down at the white cast on your arm. "The doctor said they should heal in no time." You looked back up at him, meeting his kind eyes. "What about you?"

"Just a few scrapes," He said. You didn't notice before, but now that you were sitting down with him, you saw he wasn't wearing his gakuran anymore. Just a white shirt and his uniform pants.

"I wanted to ask about Jotaro." He said, making you slightly frown. "At the beginning of the journey, you two seemed really close. But now...it seems like you despise each other."

You looked down guiltily. Did it really seem like that? Had you and Jotaro drifted so much that people thought you hated each other?

"Yeah..." You said, rubbing your arm. "Jotaro and I...aren't...on the best terms right now. He didn't want me to come in the first place. I think he's blaming himself that I keep getting hurt." You looked off to the side. "But some...other..stuff went down too."

"You mean the kiss?"

Your cheeks turned red and your e/c eyes widened. "Y-y-yeah. He's an asshole, though." You said, tapping your cheeks. Sadness washed over your face as a frown tugged on your lips. "But...Jotaro used to be so sweet. I don't know what happened to him. Sometimes, I miss how kind he used to be. Now, it's like he's a totally different person. Oh, sorry Kak! I'm ranting on and on," You said.

"No, it's okay!" He said. "I don't mind if you rant. I like the sound of your voice." Your cheeks heated up, and his turned pink as well. You smiled, making him smile too. "You should do that more often," He said, brushing a strand of hair from your shoulder. "Smile, I mean. It's beautiful."

"Thanks," You said, smiling a little wider at the compliment. There was something different about Kakyoin. Whenever you were around him, you were happy and bubbly. Always smiling or laughing, and overall just enjoying his company. It reminded you of how Jotaro used to be.

"Hey...Y/n.." He said, making you look up at him. "When all of this is over...wanna get mochi together?"

You stared at him for a moment before you burst out into a fit of giggles, making him look at you strangely. "What?" He laughed, watching as you grabbed your sides in your laughter.

"S-sorry!" You said, calming down. "You just brought that up so casually." You wiped at your eyes, but shot him a grin anyways. "And, I'd love to get mochi with you, Kak."

"Great," He smiled.

"But you know what that means right?" You asked. He looked at you questioningly. "That just means that you gotta stay alive,"

"Do you think I'm gonna die that easily?" He asked with a sly grin.

"No, but this just means that this is a promise to make it out of here alive." You said. "So do you promise?"

"To make it out alive?" He asked, watching as you extended your pinky out.

"No. To take me to get mochi back home." You smirked. "Your treat of course." He grinned as he linked his pinky with yours.

"Alright. I promise to take you to mochi." He said. "My treat, of course," He added.

"Great. You better keep it then. I hate people who break promises."

"Wouldn't dream of it."
