."L/n," A doctor called out. Immediately, the four men jumped to their feet. They had been there all day waiting.
"Is she Okay?" Avdol quickly asked. The doctor sighed.
"For now, yes. Miss L/n suffered a minor heart attack." The group gasped. "We think it has something to do with stress, but it also looks like she's been fighting an infection off as well. We had to do a small surgery to replace the pace maker in her chest, but she's stable now. She's awake if you want to see her."
You were laying on the bed, an oxygen mask over your mouth and nose, and IV connected into your arm. The top part of your gown was pulled down, exposing the bandages on your neck, shoulder and chest. The blanket was pulled up to your waist, and your head was leaned back against the pillow. You had dark circles under your eyes and they were closed.
At first, they thought you were asleep until you slowly peeled them open to look as they entered the room. You immediately looked to the ground. Jotaro walked in first. His hand gripped the bars beside your bed so tight his knuckles turned white.
"Dammit." He hissed. "Why couldn't you just tell me?" Your hand reached up and pulled the mask down.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't w-want anyone to worry." Jotaro grabbed the mask and pulled it back over your face.
"Yare yare, save your breath Buttercup," He sighed. "There's nothing you need apologize for. None of this is your fault." Your eyes fluttered close as he leaned down and kissed your forehead gently.
"You feeling okay kiddo?" Polnareff asked quietly. You could see the fear still in his eyes. You nodded and tried to pull your mask down to speak but Jotaro kept pulling it back over your mouth. You eventually just gave up, and nodded or shook your head to answer. Polnareff Avdol, and Mr. Joestar bid you goodbye as they went to check on Kakyoin and let him know what was going on.
You turned your head as you felt Jotaro's fingers on your neck. He was grinning. It took you a moment to realize why though. "They definitely saw these marks." He said, grinning at you. Your face flushed as you raised a hand to cover to your neck. You leaned a way from Jotaro and pulled your mask down to talk.
"You should be nicer to me you know. I just had a heart attack." It was meant as a joke, but the frown on Jotaro's face concerned you.
"What made you flip out?" He asked. You put the mask over your face as you looked away. Jotaro scoffed before he started messing with the bed. You watched him in confusion, curious to see what he was doing. You were soon answered as the bar fell down and Jotaro gave an approving grin. You looked up at him as he sat on the side on the bed. You raised your hand up, but were stopped by the cords. He could see the annoyance on your face and afraid that something would happen, he leaned his head down. You smiled behind the mask as you held his cheek. Your thumb swiped under his eye.
You scooted over and he allowed you to pull him down beside you. You shifted around until you curled into Jotaro's chest. You laid your head on his arm while the other played with your h/l h/c hair. Jotaro looked at you with soft aquamarine eyes. Your hand remained on his cheek until it moved to pull the mask down.
"I saw Kakyoin get hurt. When we were standing at the helicopter. But when I tried to help him, that happened." You took a moment to catch your breath. Jotaro listened to you carefully, rubbing small circles into your back. "W-what if that happens and I can't help you and Kakyoin again?"
