The next day.

Elle's pov

I finish applying my makeup and start curling my hair. I take my dress off of the hanger and change into it.

I put on my black heels and lace them up. I finish packing the diaper bag and take a deep breath. I walk out of my room and find my Mom dressing Hadley in the family room.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome." My Mom smiles small.

Hadley starts crying so I pick her up. She slowly calms down.

"It's okay." I say kissing her head.

"Should we go?" Dan asks.

I swallow the lump in my throat and nod.

"Mason said that you two will be seated a couple rows behind me."

"Okay." Mom nods.

Dan parks the car. I get out and put the diaper bag on my shoulder. I walk around the other side and open the door.

Hadley smiles up at me. I unbuckle her and place her on my hip.

"Hi." Riley's parents approach.

"Hey." My Mom says.

I look around searching for Riley or someone I knew.

"Elle?"

I snap my head back.

"How are you?" Mrs Collins asks.

I nod, "I'm doing okay. I'll catch up with you guys later?" I say spotting Mason.

My Mom nods. I walk closer to the church. Mason stands looking... confused? I don't know if that's the right word.

"Mason?" I approach.

"Hi." He breaths out.

"What's going on?"

Mason shakes his head.

"Tell me." I say putting my arm on his shoulder.

"I think my Dad's here." He says while his eyes water.

I take a breath. "Damn."

He wipes his eyes.

"What's going on?" Riley appears.

I notice my hand still on Mason so I move it. Hadley starts whining so I bounce her.

"His Dad's here." I whisper.

"Oh no." Riley mumbles.

"Just don't speaker to him, don't give him the time of day." I say.

"I just want to rip his freakin throat." Mason grits.

Hadley starts whining and he quickly looks at her.

"How could he?" Mason says as tears pour from his eyes.

Suddenly I notice everyone's eyes on us.

"Maybe we should go inside." Riley says.

"I can't be in there with him." Mason shakes his head.

I look around unsure of the next move.

Charlie walks out of the church and quickly down the steps.

"What's going on?"

"I can't, Char. I can't." Mason cries.

"Is he drunk?" Riley whispers.
