Two months later...

Elle's pov.

"This is actually exactly what I was looking for." I say looking around.

"It's really great." Mom says.

I frown, "Something wrong?"

"It's just hitting me that you and Hadley will be moving out." Mom says with tears in her eyes.

"Awww." I smile and hug her.

"Gamamama." Hadley coos.

Mom smiles and takes her from me.

"It has a washer and dryer as well." Mason says walking around the corner.

"That was on the list." I smile.

Mom sighs.

"C'mon Mom, you can visit and we'll visit! Trust me I'm going to need a babysitter every now and then. Plus Hadley nor I can go that long without seeing you." I smile.

Mom smiles. "You're sixteen you're not suppose to be such an adult yet."

I smile. "T-minus three weeks until Hadley's birthday and a two months until mine."

"What about the price? Does it suit your income?" Mason asks changing the subject.

"Yes, Mason." I say turning around.

"Just making sure."

My Mom frowns.

"What?" I mumble.

She shakes her head. "Don't worry."

The building manager walks inside.

"What's it going to be Miss Adkins?"

I look around one more time before giving him my answer.

~ a couple days later ~

"Riley's only has a couple more days until her due date." I remind Mason for the hundredth time.

"I know." He nods. "You only remind me everyday."

"What's your problem?" I sigh cutting up Hadley's nuggets.

"I just don't understand why you need to constantly remind me." Mason says cutting his food.

I roll my eyes and put Hadley's food in front of her.

"Do you always have to roll your eyes?" He groans.

"Just stop talking, I'm not fighting with you in a restaurant." I mumble and turn my attention back to my food. I notice anchovies in my salad and pick them out with my fork.

"You asked for no anchovies."

"I know." I say.

"Send it back."

"I can just get them out." I say avoiding conflict.

"Mhmmm." Hadley says eating her chicken.

"That good H?" Mason chuckles.

Hadley smiles and nods while eating. Mason takes a picture.

I start eating my salad.

"Why don't you eat some real food?"

"This is real food." I say.

"Like a steak or something." Mason says.

"I don't like steak, as you know." I sigh. "-and I like the salad here."
