Irene's smirk widened as she playfully teased, "Don't you long for our bond, Jennie? Your partner in crime, your twin in spirit?"

Jennie's expression remained stoic, devoid of any emotion as she locked eyes with Irene. "What are you after, Irene?" she inquired calmly, her tone betraying none of the tension brewing beneath the surface.

With a theatrical sigh, Irene leaned in closer, her tone dripping with mischief. "Come on, Jennie, I've already told you back then about what i want and whom i like. haven't I?  surely you haven't forgotten." Her emphasizing on each word carried a subtle double meaning, hinting at a shared understanding between them that Jennie couldn't overlook.

"It's been years, Irene. Haven't you let go of this nonsense?" Jennie's arms crossed, her demeanor poised and unruffled as she reclined in her chair.

Suppressing a laugh behind her hand, Irene gradually composed herself, adopting a serious expression as she leaned in, mirroring Jennie's posture with crossed arms resting on the table. "Why should I move on? Are you truly happy in your marriage? And what about Lisa? Is she happy being with you... twinnie?"

There was a brief pause before Jennie responded, her tone guarded. "Why does any of that matter to you?"

A tense silence enveloped them, the air heavy with unspoken tension. Neither willing to yield, each displaying a facade of unruffled composure and unwavering confidence.

"Feeling threatened, Jennie?" Irene's question, her raising an eyebrow a subtle challenge, as if she was daring Jennie to admit her discomfort. But Jennie remained impassive, refusing to give Irene the satisfaction of a reaction.

A smug smirk played on Irene's lips as she continued, her confidence unshaken. "You don't have to say it aloud tho. I can sense it." The confidence in her voice, as if she had succeeded in unsettling Jennie, even though her demeanor remained stoic.

Jennie's smile held a hint of irony as she spoke, her gaze still locking with Irene's. "Why would I feel threatened? I've already secured my place by her side, twinnie," she remarked, deliberately drawing Irene's attention to her wedding ring as she brushed her fingers across her lips, a subtle gesture of pride. Irene couldn't help but chuckle at the display.

But she was not the one to hold back. "That metal band on your finger doesn't change the fact that your marriage is nothing more than a hollow facade, merely a contractual obligation tied to your business," she retorted, aiming to rattle Jennie's composed facade.

Jennie's grin turned derisive, a silent challenge in her eyes as she leaned forward, clasping her hands together on the table. "I may just her wife, Irene, but what about you? Just a former schoolmate clinging to lingering feelings, unable to move on," she countered, her words cutting through the tension with a sharp edge.
