Third Person's Pov:Jennie woke up first, rolling over to see a wall of pillows separating her from Lisa. She sighed heavily, choosing to stare at the ceiling instead. Later, she felt the other side of the bed wobble as Lisa yawned and got up. Lisa went straight to the bathroom, ignoring her wife's presence entirely.
“Good morning,” Jennie whispered to the closed door, hoping Lisa would hear her.
Jennie sat up, zoning out as she stared into space. By the time Lisa emerged, she was already dressed in her usual jeans and plain shirt. Jennie’s eyes never left Lisa, silently pleading for a moment of acknowledgment, but Lisa deliberately ignored her.
“Just a glimpse, Lili... Just one,” Jennie mentally begged as Lisa walked to the door, leaving without a word.
The room became painfully quiet. Jennie fixed herself up, wearing the same jeans and shirt she had brought. She walked down to the dining room, where breakfast was already laid out.
“Good morning, Unnie!” Naeun greeted sweetly. Jennie bent down and softly poked her little nose.
“Good morning to you too,” Jennie replied, beaming.
Naeun took her hand and led her to the table. Everyone sat down for breakfast. The table was large enough to fit everyone, with a separate table for the children.
“Could you pass me the chicken, please?” Jisoo asked Bambam. He shook his head and placed a piece of chicken on her plate. Jisoo mouthed ‘thank you’ and stabbed her fork into the chicken.
“Chicken maniac,” Seulgi whispered, chewing her food. Unfortunately, Jisoo heard and kicked her under the table, causing Seulgi to choke on her sandwich.
“Here.” Irene handed Seulgi a cup of coffee to wash it down. Seulgi took a sip but forgot to blow on it, burning her tongue.
“Ahhhh!!” She groaned, sticking out her tongue. Bambam, sitting next to her, panicked and instinctively blew on her tongue.
“YAH!” Seulgi’s hand reflexively smacked Bambam’s cheek.
“The fuc—” Bambam hissed but was cut off when Sana covered his mouth.
“Oh, sorry! But why did you do that though? That’s gross!” Seulgi felt bad for her reaction. Bambam glared at her, unable to respond with Sana’s hand over his mouth.
“You okay? Sorry, here’s some water,” Irene offered.
“Thanks.” Seulgi took the water without looking at her. Her confession last night made things awkward, and Irene knew Seulgi had been avoiding her.
Bambam, now relaxed, observed them secretly. Sensing something odd between them, he decided to deal with it later.
After breakfast, they moved to the garden to prepare for the children’s party tomorrow. Lisa and her friends wanted to ensure everyone enjoyed it, putting in extra effort to make it beautiful.
“Bear, are you okay?” Bambam asked Seulgi, who was busy cutting decorations.
“If you’re here to fight, pass,” Seulgi replied without looking at him.
“Yah! That’s not it. Look, I know I annoy you sometimes but—”
“Every day,” Seulgi corrected promptly.
“Fine, EVERY DAY. But y’know Bear? I’m all ears whenever you need me,” Bambam said sincerely. Seulgi laughed, causing Bambam to glare at her.
“I’m sorry, Bam. I just couldn’t stomach seeing you like that. You look like a fake plastic horse!” Seulgi teased, still laughing.
