Lisa woke up early, squinting as sunlight streamed onto her face. Once her vision adjusted, she noticed her wife peacefully asleep in the bed, facing her.

Lisa cautiously sat up to stretch her body, grimacing in pain as she did so. She shut her eyes tightly while kneading her shoulder, feeling the discomfort deeply. The couch was too short for her to fit comfortably, resulting in her long legs hanging all night, causing them to go numb. Lisa opened her eyes when she heard Jennie's mom knocking and calling them for breakfast. Unaware that Jennie had been awake all along, their eyes met, and Lisa saw the worry etched on Jennie's face as she stared at her.

"Are you okay?" Jennie said, her concern evident in her face, melting Lisa's heart. A corner of Lisa's mouth twitched as Jennie jumped out of bed and dragged her feet to get a plaster for her. Such a simple action only made Lisa love Jennie even more.

After having breakfast together with Jennie's parents, Lisa received a call from Mr. Smith informs her about a meeting with his new business partner. Since Mr. Smith hadn't yet decided about returning his investment in Kim-Manoban Corp., Lisa felt obligated to attend all the meetings with him. She was eager to regain his trust in her company. Without hesitation, she drove straight to Mr. Smith's place, as Jennie had decided to stay at her parents' place until the afternoon.

Lisa's Pov:

As the secretary led me to the room and opened the door, I recoiled and clenched my fist at the sight of the unexpected person sitting comfortably next to Mr. Smith. Taking a deep breath to calm myself, I began to walk towards them, preparing to face whatever awaited me.

"Ms. Manoban, thank you for coming," Mr. Smith said, bowing his head, and I followed suit. As he gestured for me to take a seat. The jerk in front of me gave me a smirk, and in response, I plastered on a fake smile, hiding any hint of discomfort or annoyance.

"Ms. Manoban, I know Mr. Jongin is your competitor. I don't want you to think that I betrayed you, but Mr. Jongin gave me a proposal regarding our unfinished project," Mr. Smith explained, his words hitting me like a ton of bricks. I focused on Mr. Smith and didn't pay attention to the dog's presence. "I'm planning to reduce my share in your company if ever." My jaw dropped in disbelief.

"Mr. Smith, is that your final decision? Can we talk about it first, just the two of us?" I pursed my lips, feeling the tension rise as Kai began to speak.

"I don't think it's a big deal to your company," Kai interjected, causing me to turn and face him.

"It is, I'm not sure about yours" he smirked. I rolled my eyes at him and turned back to Mr. Smith.

"Ms. Manoban, I'm sorry. But I think this is necessary," Mr. Smith stated, looking convinced. However, I wasn't going to let him go through with it without a fight.

"Okay, Mr. Smith, but please, if you'll let me set another meeting, just the two of us. We can talk about it better," I emphasized, directing the words pointedly at Kai, hoping to offend him, but he just winked, which I found disgusting. Despite my annoyance, the meeting proceeded, and Mr. Smith continued discussing his plans. I made sure to give him my full attention, not wasting any chance looking in Kai's direction.
