The Whisper Challenge was the last game they were going to play. As they began, Bambam explained the rules, making sure everyone understood. Once he saw nods of comprehension, he revealed a jar containing each of their names and drew a paper to determine who would be the first player.

"Minari!" he announced cheerfully, waving the piece of paper. Mina stepped forward, beaming as she picked her best friend Sana’s name from the jar. The two friends donned their headphones, ready to start the challenge. Bambam gave them the first word to guess, and the timer started. Despite their best efforts, Seulgi kept distracting them with her antics. When the time ran out, they had missed four words.

"Seulgi unnie, that's unfair," Sana protested as she removed her headphones. Seulgi scratched her nape and flashed a peace sign, trying to pacify the sulky Sana.

Next up were Jisoo and Irene. Their determination and competitive spirits were evident in their expressions. Despite their efforts, they missed three words but still managed to surpass Mina and Sana’s score by one point. Only Seulgi, Bambam, Jennie, and Lisa were left to play.

"Seulgi," Bambam read from the paper. When Seulgi unintentionally pulled out Bambam’s name as her partner, there was an awkward pause, knowing that Jennie and Lisa would be the last pair. With no other choice, they put on their headphones. Jisoo set the timer, and Bambam started mouthing the words. Seulgi struggled initially but soon got the hang of it, and they only missed one word. They celebrated their success by jumping around like happy kids.

"Yah! You silly duo are not yet the winners," Jisoo reminded them. Bambam and Seulgi calmed down and took their seats. Lisa and Jennie, the final pair, prepared for their turn.

"Go, unnies!" Naeun cheered as they smiled in return. With their headphones on, the atmosphere turned tense. Lisa’s cold stare and Jennie’s restless demeanor were palpable. Bambam gave the signal to start, and Jennie read the word Lisa had to guess. Instead of mouthing the word, Jennie mouthed something different.

"Forgive me," she mouthed. Her friends caught on quickly, and Lisa’s earlier calmness faded.

"Forgive me, please," Jennie repeated, her eyes glinting with longing. Lisa read every word but chose to remain silent, her mouth set in a hard line.

The atmosphere grew lifeless, the children unaware of the tension. With seconds left, Jennie mouthed the last words.

"I love you," she said slowly. Lisa saw something akin to remorse in Jennie’s eyes, making her heart clench. When the game ended, no one spoke. Their eyes were fixed on the couple, especially Lisa.

"We won!" Bambam exclaimed, trying to divert attention. "Children, let's eat! We’ve prepared a feast." The children cheered and rushed to the food. Lisa stood abruptly.

"Excuse me," she said, rushing to the bathroom. Bambam tried to speak, but Lisa was already gone, her fists clenched tightly.

Jennie took a few steps before Jisoo grabbed her arm. "Let her," Jisoo said, but seeing Jennie’s tears, she loosened her grip.

"I need to talk to her. Please, just this time," Jennie pleaded. With Jisoo’s silent approval, Jennie followed Lisa.

Concerned, the others followed at a distance. They saw Jennie standing by the closed bathroom door, her sobs muffled. Irene, seeing Jennie cry for the first time, was taken aback by the vulnerability of the usually tough Jennie Kim.

From inside, Lisa’s weeping echoed. Jisoo leaned on Seulgi’s shoulder, tears flowing freely. She couldn’t bear to see both Lisa and Jennie breaking down. Unable to take it any longer, she walked away, followed by the others, leaving the couple some space.

Jennie composed herself before opening the door. She found Lisa sitting in the corner, forehead on her knees, still sobbing quietly.

"Kim Jennie," Lisa’s weak voice caught her off guard. Jennie knelt in front of her, holding Lisa’s hands tightly.

"I'm so tired... I really am," Lisa said, tears streaming down. "Stop saying those words if you don’t mean them. Please, Jennie... Just don’t."

Jennie’s sobs wracked her body. "I'm sick of this. I want to be happy again," Lisa continued, as Jennie managed to speak.

"Lisa, I'm sorry. I know no matter how many times I apologize, I can't remove the pain. But please, believe me, I love you. I really do, Lisa."

Lisa bit her lip, staring at their joined hands. "Do you know how much I wanted to hear those words from you before? Every day, every hour, every second. I never lost hope that one day you'd love me, not just as your best friend but as your wife. I promised myself to love you despite how it was killing me inside."

She paused, studying Jennie’s face. "Just like this, Nini, I used to wipe these tears for you. I used to make you happy whenever you felt lonely. What happened to us, Nini? I was supposed to be happy, right? Because after all these years, here you are saying you love me. But it hurts even more. The wounds are getting worse, and I can’t take this pain."

"I've done trying to carry all this weight. I need space. I'm really...really tired, and i needed to heal... alone." With that, Lisa stood and walked out, leaving Jennie to cry quietly against the cold wall.

"It's my fault, I know... I'm sorry, Lisa. I'm sorry, Lili," Jennie whispered, her heart breaking.

I'm sorry, Lili," Jennie whispered, her heart breaking
