Jisoo's POV
We bid our goodbyes with warm embraces, the emotions high from the bond we had formed over our three-day stay. Bambam approached me, looking concerned.
"Lisa's still inside," he said. I nodded in response. Justine had arrived to take us home, and while we waited for Lisa and Jennie, a taxi pulled up in front of us.
"Did anyone call a taxi?" Bambam asked. Irene, Mina, and Sana all shook their heads. I was standing next to Bambam as he approached the driver to inquire.
"I'm waiting for Jennie Kim," the driver replied. Bambam glanced back at me.
"Why would she need a taxi if Justine is taking us home?" he whispered. We exchanged glances, understanding the situation. Bambam sighed and spoke to the driver again.
"Mister, may I ask you a favor?" he said politely. "Please take our friend home safely." The driver nodded, and I could see Bambam trying to remain calm despite his foot tapping nervously on the ground.
Jennie emerged from the house, her eyes bloodshot and face pale from crying, yet she managed a small smile.
"I have to go, unnie," she said, turning to Bambam and bowing her head. Before she could get in the taxi, Bambam spoke up.
"Inform us once you get home," he requested, his concern evident.
"I will. Thank you. Please take care of her," Jennie replied, and then she got into the taxi, which drove off.
Just as the taxi left, Lisa emerged from the house. She walked straight to the van where the others were already seated. The ride home was quiet, the only sounds coming from passing cars. No one spoke; we were all lost in our thoughts.
I caught a glimpse of Lisa through the rearview mirror. She was staring out the window, her face hidden behind sunglasses. I saw a tear slide down her cheek, and she turned her head further away, trying to conceal it.
A few hours later, Justine dropped off Seulgi first, as she had something to take care of at her bar. Next were Irene, Mina, Sana, and Bambam at their respective houses. Lisa and I were the only ones left.
"Just drop me there, Justine," Lisa said, pointing to a hotel across the street. I was surprised and raised my eyebrows.
"Lisa? Why there?" I asked.
"Take care," she said, ignoring my question as she hopped out of the van. When Justine was about to start the car again, I quickly stopped him.
"I'm okay here, thank you," I said, and without waiting for his response, I ran after Lisa, my pace doubling. When I reached her, I tightly gripped her wrist, causing her to flinch.
"Jisoo unnie?!" she exclaimed, clearly surprised.
"Where are you going? This isn't your house!" I didn't mean to raise my voice, but I did. Lisa harshly shoved my hand away and shot me a look of pure frustration.
"Stop chasing me!" she hissed. Her tone wasn't loud, but it was harsh. I'd never seen her like this before.
"I was just worried—"
"STOP! Will you please, Jisoo? Stop chasing me and acting like you’re my sister because you're not! LEAVE. ME. ALONE!" Her sudden outburst left me stunned and speechless. Her hard expression gradually faded as terror overtook her face. She looked uncertain and scared about what she had just said.
"U-Unnie, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say those things—" She stepped forward, her hands trembling as she tried to explain.
"You don't have to," I said softly, holding her hands to stop them from shaking. "Let's go now, Lisa."
"But—" I cut her off immediately.
"Please, Lisa." She didn't move, clearly hesitant.
"Then choose: I'll go with you or you'll come with me to my house."
------
"If you want, you can use my room, and I'll take the guest room," I told Lisa as we walked into my house. She looked at me sternly.
"What?! Why would I let you use the guest room if this house is yours?"
"I'm giving you choices!"
"Of course the guest room, and you'll stay in your room, unnie," she said, taking off her jacket and slumping onto the couch. I did the same, feeling the exhaustion of the day catching up to me.
"Unnie?" she called softly. I hummed in response. "I'm really, really sorry about what happened earlier."
"I told you, it's okay," I reassured her.
"It's not," she said, shaking her head sadly. "I'm scared because... I did it again." Her words puzzled me. I didn't know what she was talking about. "I didn't mean to hurt anybody, not you, not even Jennie. But I did," she continued, ducking her head as tears began to welled up in her eyes.
"What exactly do you mean by that, Lisa?"
"I didn't mean to hurt her... physically, unnie. I was drunk that night, and I know that's no excuse. But I still remember how I turned into a monster in just a snap. I never expected I could do such a thing to her."
I remained silent, letting her speak.
"When I saw you looking at me with horror in your eyes, what happened that night came back." She lifted her head, tear stream down her face. I pulled her close, gathering her in my arms.
"Unnie, I don't know anymore. I really don't."
"Everything will be okay, Lisa," I whispered.
She stayed in my arms for a few minutes before she withdrew, saying she wanted to rest. I let her, stay still.
As I stared at the ceiling, I recalled the happier times, especially between Lisa and Jennie. They were so happy back then. Who would've thought they'd end up like this?
