Chapter Twenty One

Avery's POV

I passed my mothers and fathers bedroom. Making my way to Adams room, something smacked into me. The feeling of another body rammed against me.

"Sorry!" She said.

"When did you get here?" I whispered.

Maddy looked at me, uncertainty in her eyes. We kept starring at one another. Then Maddys eyes teared up. Her arms were around me, tears flowing down her face.

"Avery I'm so sorry. I was so stupid." Maddy sobbed.

I felt my own eyes spill the tears I had held back, "It's okay Maddy. You were hurt. We all say things we don't mean when we're hurting."

I will always be here for Maddy. She's my best friend and she's family. Families fight, they say things, but they always forgive each other. Cause family is always there through it all. Through the hard, bad, horrible, sad, and happy times. No matter what they've done, they're there.

"Come on Maddy, don't cry." I felt my tears softly roll down.

"You're my best friend." Maddy hiccup.

"Shh Maddy its okay."

Minutes after both of us crying and apologizing to each other, we finally calmed ourselves. I casted a glance down the hall to Adams room.

"Come on lets go catch up in my room." I linked my forearm with Maddys.

I didn't want to face Lucas just yet but I want to comfort of my room and my best friend.

She smiled, "Okay."

Going into my room Lucas was no where to be seen. I heard water running inside the bathroom. I held a finger up to Maddy. Signalling her to get comfortable on my bed. I opened the bathroom door and slid in.

"Hey Lucas."

"What?" His voice a defeated sigh.

"Maddys here. When you're done, can you give me and Maddy some time together?" I asked.

"Whatever you want Princess Avery."

I frowned. "What? Are we back to formalities now?"

I heard Lucas take a deep intake of air, "No."

I didn't reply, I just walked out back to a smirking Maddy. I shook my head knowing exactly what she was thinking.

"It's not what you're thinking." My voice holding dominance.

I knew in away it was exactly what she was thinking. However, right now it also wasn't.

She shrugged rolling her eyes. "So how have you been?"

I sat down next to her. Letting my back fall against the bed. "I've been okay."

"I found my mate!" Maddy blurted quickly.

I smiled a warm smile, "I know."

She starred at me in shock, "How...?"

"Come on do you have to ask." I laughed.
