Chapter Twenty Two

Maddys POV

"What am I not supposed to know Bray?" I asked nonchalantly when everyone left the room.

Bray looked at me. I could see the love he has for me in his eyes. Guilt an pain punched my heart. Knowing he possibly has lied to me, hurts me. The fear of not knowing what he's lied about scares me the most.

"Well my names not exactly Bray." He sighed.

He has lied to me.

"What is it?" I spoke not letting my feelings show.

He frowned, "It's Boyd but sometimes I go by Bray."

I lifted a brow, that surprised me. I know I've heard that name before but I can't place it. Where the hell have I heard that from? I wanted to ask him why he lied to me. I decided I wanted to know what else he was keeping from me more then why he lied.

"I don't live on Earth. I live in the Goddesses realm." He kept eye contact with me.

It all clicked. I know where I've heard that name from. I've heard aunt Elena say it before...and Annalise.

"You're him? You're the Moon Goddess own flesh and blood!" My voice clear disbelief. "You're her son."

He nodded watching me. I let all my shock hit me. I was mated to a powerful creature of the moon. Son of the moon Goddess herself. My fear hit me next, consuming me like a blanket. Goosebumps rose on my skin. I was going to reject the moon Goddess son!

Why am I mated to a moon creature? Annalise doesn't have a mate. Elena told me and Avery both the Goddesses born children doesn't have mates. How can this be?

"I know your thinking why." Bray or Boyd, my mate said.

I made eye contact with him. Not sure what to say, I nodded. My eyes were wide globes. I didn't have any words to describe what I was feeling. Overwhelmed seemed like a perfect fit but I was more then overwhelmed.

"You can't understand why were mated." Boyd spoke out my thoughts.

"No. I can't." I looked down at my joined fingers.

Earlier I didn't even think I was worthy of having a mate. Here I am, mated to the Moon Goddess own son.

"Because your special. Because you complete my every being. Because we were destined to be together. Not because of some mate bond, but because I fell in love with you from the moment I laid eyes on you. I know everything about you, all your faults that I also love. I love you Maddy." Boyd was breathless by the time his speech was over.

I didn't know what words would be good to say after his rant. I was stuck in the three words that melted my heart.

I love you Maddy.

They echoed in my ears, repeating over and over. I was stuck between saying the words back, or simply walking away and crying my heart out. Why is it so hard for me to say them back? Do I love him? Were mates but that doesn't mean I instantly have fallen for him.

I know nothing about him really. I just learned five minutes ago his name wasn't even Bray, it's Boyd. That makes him a liar. Not only has my mate deceived me, he was a stranger in my eyes. He broke my trusts, something that I don't do often is trusts others.

But I had trusted him, something I should have never done. If we overcome this, it will be awhile before he gains my trusts back.

Don't be so hard on him.... A voice whispered.

Who are you?

Keep trust in him. He will prove himself to you...

Who on earth could be talking to me? The voice is hard to understand, wether or not it's female or male.

"Say something." Boyd hovered over me, breaking my train of thought.

I looked up at him, my face blank. I know what I needed to say. What I wanted to say but... I couldn't. They were stuck in the back of my throat.

I stood, not looking at him. I walked out of the room. My tears becoming over flowing silent waterworks down my cheeks.
