Bilbo creeps down the great stone staircase of the mountain, to the hall of the Golden Horde of king Thrain.
Bilbo mutters to himself praying there isn't a live dragon sleeping within these halls. Once he reaches the gold he moves. He scatters the coins looking for a stone he's never seen and given no accurate description of what it looked like, he quivered in fear of the fact that there may be a sleeping live dragon hidden somewhere beneath those coins.

Meanwhile at the top of the hidden doors craven hallway to the stairs Thorin stares down with a deadly gaze making Hali's skin crawl as if she were back in Tartarus, fighting beasts, titans and her grandfather all over again and it was not something she wanted to relive ever or wish it upon her worst enemy to relive in that nightmare.

Bilbo slides and slips among the coins looking for the stone in which would give Thorin the right to rule over the dwarves and call back his people to their true home. When he spots a glowing white gem gleaming off torch light beneath the staircase when coins ripple down and a gust of air is released from dragon lungs showing off a large nostril of a long red snot, soon enough more coins shift to show off to Bilbo just how long the fire drake of the north really was. Bilbo takes in a big gulp of air watching the steady shift of the beasts mighty body.

Meanwhile in lake town Fili is begging for help for Kili who had become even more sick since the company left for the mountain but everyone turned them away so they returned to Bard's home to beg for his help. "Go away I've had enough dealings with dwarves for one life time" Bard growls as he goes to shunt his door in their faces and return to sitting in front his fireplace. "Please no one will help us and my brother is very sick" Fili stares up at the man before ushering him to look back at the pale and sweating Kili who hung limply in the arms of Bofur with Oin standing behind looking increasingly concerned for the youngest Durin. Once Bard got a look at him he ushered the small group back into his home as they look for herbs and remedies for Kili when Bard tells them what their looking for is fed to pigs as it is only seen as a weed by mortals and not a medicine.

Hali moves slowly behind Thorin as he holds his sword out in front of him moving closer to the golden horde as Bilbo comes racing up the stairs telling them to turn back because there was in fact a live dragon raging within the halls of stone. "Did you get it" Thorin growls as he grabs the collar of Bilbo's coat. "No you don't understand we have to get out of here right now" Bilbo tries to drag Thorin away from the hall that would lead to madness.

Soon enough the whole company has made it inside the mountain and are running for their lives as the serpent of fire hunts them down, reaching the front gates they see those who did not make it out of the mountain as a wicked chuckling voice echos through the halls as Smaug hisses "I've laid down your warriors of old, slept within your halls and horded your gold this is MY MOUNTAIN" the company splits up to draw him the forges.

"There's no fire hot enough to set light to these stone cold furnaces" Balin tells Thorin, "Do we not" he looks back at the entrance to the forges. running back to them he leans over the edge holding onto the chains. " I did not look to see you have grown lazy and fat in your deluge, Slug" Thoirn looks straight into Smaug's eyes before running back to the company telling them to take cover, after fire is blasted into he forges he gives everyone a position and a timed reaction to his plan. They melt down the gold while throwing flash bombs at the dragon . Thorin rides one of the gold tanks down the running stream to the hall of Kings with Smaug storming after him. Bilbo scurries after them with Hali hot on his heels while the dwarves move into their next position in the hall, Thorin stands a the top of a metal mold of his grandfather while the molten gold is poured into it.

"These are dwarven lands, this is dwarven halls and this is dwarven gold... AND WE WILL HAVE OUR REVENGE" Thorin yells being pulled off the mold as it splits in half to reveal not quite set in, golden statue of his grandfather. Smaug stares at his reflection in the gold before it starts to explode from the inside, it spills out in rapids knocking him over and rushing over him to drown him and seal him in the floor of the hall. Smaug springs from the resting gold in a rage before taking off into the sky to lake town.

"My teeth like swords, my talons spears, my wings are a hurricane... I AM FIRE.... I AM DEATH" He roars in the wind speeding across the lake in vengence. The lake shines and burns with screams of terror echoing in the night, Bilbo whimpers out "what have we done" while Hali stands waist deep in the water as she watches on in horror praying to the gods the rest of the company makes it out alive with whom ever else survives this horrid night of Flames.

Meanwhile Kili is being healed by Tauriel and afterwards they grab what they can taking Bard's children with them as Bard goes off to slay a dragon with only his bow and quiver, when his son bane sees him rushing across the docks he jumps out, his sister's screaming out for him as he races off to where he hide the black arrow from the town guards when his father was "arrested" without charge. Tauriel keeps rowing toward the shore where others make their way.
