Hali finds a way down Carrcock, but the stairs look like they were made for giants so Hali tries to draw as much water from where ever she can to create an ice slide for herself and the company to ride down. "Well we won't get to the mountain just looking at it boys" she giggles at them before guiding them down the ice.

They spend weeks running through the forests away from Azog and his pack of mongrels, the company is short on food and have begun passing around extra water skins for everyone to sup from during the day. Hali takes the lead as she feels and smells fresh rushing water soon enough she has lead the company to a strong flowing river they all set up camp for the night by the banks.

Some go back into the woods to hunt some animal for dinner others fill all the water skins, Gandalf smokes with the silent company of the young hobbit and Hali moves up stream to bath. Stripping of her blooded  and slashed clothes along with sweaty underwear she jumps straight into the cold water, she swims to sit down at the bottom of the river to clear her mind of her troubles. "Hali.....Hali...." a soft voice calls out to her she opens her eyes looking around soon enough spots what looks to be a river nymph, "Hello" she responds "Your father spends me with gifts" the beautifully pale blue nymph holds out her hands with a hand full of Persephone's pearls used as a form of transportation for her to use to go back to the underworld during the winter or whenever she didn't want to be with her mother the same way she would use it is if she was upset with Hades. "Pearls of Persephone, why did he send you here with these" she questions "Lord Apollo saw a future without the mountain king and the young princes and asked the Lady Persephone for her pearls to change the out come and your father entrusted me to get them to you" she explains before disappearing. Hali is quick to resurface to find half the company looking along the bank for her.

"Why so panicked looking boys" she chuckles as they all whip around to see her standing completely dry and dressed, "we were looking for you lass thought ya drowned" Balin says "Thank you for the concern but I am the daughter of a WATER god no way I could even swallow the water and chock but thanks" she heads back to camp with them following behind her.

She quickly puts the pearls in a small hidden pocket in her tunic while she sits around the fire with the company as they eat some hares Bofur and Bifur had caught. The next morning they had doubled their pace from yesterday as the pack was catching up and that was not ideal for this quest so they sent poor Bilbo back to see how close or far they really were from them.

Once he returns he is questioned and spoken over, "Will you all shut it there is something else the hobbit has to say" Hali hisses as she looks down at Bilbo but also over her shoulder into the woods feeling something watching them. "Th-th-there is something else o-o-o-out there" he stutters "what form did it take... like a bear" Gandalf teatters "y-y-y-yes but much bigger" "You knew of this creature and didn't tell us" Thorin grumbles with a frowned brow "Is he foe or friend" Thorin asks in an upset tone, "There is a house we could take refuge in, Neither....he will helps us or he will kill us" they all start running for the house they had no idea if this would be the end of them if they were running into a trap or not but Gandalf seemed to trust them enough to seek them out so the dwarves followed. Hali once again took up the rear guard she watched Bombur pass half of the dwarves and with the looks on some of their faces Hali could have dropped in to hysterics if it weren't for the facts that they were being chased down by not only a pack of smelly orcs but Beorn who Hali found out was a skin-changer in the form of a great black bear which utterly terrified her, she saw them get stuck at the giant doors so she picked up her pace before taking a leap above the dwarves to turn the latch up they all rushed in and shoved the door closed on Beorn's snot.

The company get settled in the barn among the hay and animals for a night of peaceful rest after running for weeks at a time with long night awake on fitful watch for the looming danger.

Hali sits by the window when the song of the lonely mountains loss comes to mind so she sings it, knowing some of the reactions the dwarves will give her. She is watched by Thorin his nephews, Dwalin and Balin.

Far over the Misty Mountains rise
Leave us standing upon the height
What was before we see once more
Is our kingdom a distant light

Fiery mountain beneath a moon

The words unspoken, we'll be there soon

For home a song that echoes on
And all who find us will know the tune

Some folk we never forget

Some kind we never forgive
Haven't seen the back of us yet
We'll fight as long as we live
All eyes on the hidden door

To the Lonely Mountain borne
We'll ride in the gathering storm
Until we get our long forgotten gold
We lay under the Misty Mountains cold
In slumbers deep, and dreams of gold
We must awake, our lives to make
And in the darkness a torch we hold
From long ago when lanterns burned
Until this day our hearts have yearned

A fate unknown, the Arkenstone
What was stolen must be returned
We must awake at break of day
To find our song for heart and soul

Some folk we never forget
Some kind we never forgive
Haven't seen the end of it yet
We'll fight as long as we live
All eyes on the hidden door
To the Lonely Mountain borne
We'll ride in the gathering storm
Till we get our long forgotten gold
Far away the Misty Mountains cold

The dwarves wake with the rising of the sun trying to figure out how to go about leaving the house without Beorn seeing them but Gandalf argues that they should thank their host for his hospitality, he said they should come out in pairs and so he takes Bilbo with him to greet the giant chopping wood Hali tries not to giggle to loud at the poor expression of little Bilbo's face at the hulking tall man. Two by two the dwarves greet the skin-changer before Thorin steps out with Hali right behind him smiling like a fool. "Good morning old friend, sorry to ransack your house with dwarves, an awkward wizard and shy little hobbit" she leaps to hug the tall animal loving man while the company just stare amazed and kind of upset that she did not tell them she had good relations with their host and they went through all that trouble just to make sure they weren't split in half by offending him.
