Hali travels roads she's seen before from gilded forest to the open rolling hills of the shire, she returns for Bilbo's birthday just like she did every year with gifts from the company in Erebor and new stories to tell the young hobbits. Hali soon hears two arguing voices of people she is very fond of, "Why if it isn't young Frodo Baggins and the every mischievous grey wizard Gandalf" she smiles from a top her horse.  " Li, you made it" Frodo greets with a smile. "Well come along Bilbo isn't getting any younger we've got a party to get started" she giggles before taking off in front of Gandal's cart.

"I am glad you are both back to celebrate with us" Frodo says hopping off Gandalf's cart before running of into the woods.
Both Hali and Gandalf knock upon Bilbo's door "we don't want any happy birthdays or well wishes" Bilbo hisses at his door "and what of two very old friends" Gandalf calls back. As quick as the words come out of his mouth the door flies open to reveal a grey haired Bilbo. "Hello sweet Bilbo" Hali calls out from behind Gandalf, "my dear Hali, how wonderful to see you both come in come in. Would you like tea or perhaps something a bit stronger we could open a bottle of ale from 1230 good year, almost as old as I am, my father had it when he built this house" Bilbo goes on walking down the hall. "Jut tea for me dear Bilbo" Gandalf says "that's alright Bilbo tea will be just fine" Hali agrees.

Bilbo sets out some finger foods and cake for the two of them while waiting for the water to boil.

Gandalf and Bilbo smoke on his front step before the party. Once down in the meadow where all the other hobbits set up for Bilbo's party the drinking and feasting begins, Gandalf sets off fireworks, Bilbo retells the tale of Erebor and Hali watches young Frodo push his good friend Samwise into the dance circle to dance with his crush dear Rosie.

All the while Peregrin Took and Meriadoc Brandybuck dig through Gandalf's cart for the biggest piece of fireworks they can find and once they do they run off with it setting it up in a tent. Once set on fire it launches into the sky and turns into a dragon frightening the poor hobbits of the Shire. Hali stands her ground ready for a fight only to realize it's just fireworks while Gandalf finds the guilty party and makes them wash all the dishes while Bilbo steps up to say his speech. At the end of it he slips on the ring he found sixty years ago in the cave spooking all in attendance to his party and putting a dark grimace over Gandalf's face and a worrying look on Hali's before they are both racing off to his hobbit hole to catch him before he leaves.

"You are going to leave him aren't you" Hali whispers while standing in his hallway. The three go back and forth and Gandalf makes Bilbo leaves the ring before he sets out back for Rivendell. "Make for the North find Aragorn both of you wait for Frodo there I may be stalled with my own small journey" Gandalf says sending Hali off to find the self-exiled king.
She rides hard to the North. Gandalf makes Frodo hide the ring and keep it secret as he too rushed out the door in search of old knowledge kept away in volts underground.

He soon return in time looking frazzled and panicked keeping his staff close to him and watches the shadows on high alert.
"Did you keep it hidden did you keep it secret" He questions while taking tight hold of Frodo's shoulders. Frodo goes digging through the chest he hid it in holding it out to Gandalf who throws it into the fire, the envelope burns and the ring remains but Gandalf pulls it out of the fire and hands it to Frodo to look upon it and find the hidden engravings in it to make sure it is what he thinks it is.

"There's nothing there Gandalf... no wait I see something some type of writing but I cannot read it" Frodo says in concern, "their are few left in middle earth who can but it reads 'the one ring to rule them all' you must leave the shire and take this with you or it is the end of middle earth as we know it, because as it seems the dark lord has return because his life force was tied to that ring and it was not destroyed when it was meant to be" Gandalf rushes hurrying young Frodo along before he hears a rustling in the bushes outside the window he tells Frodo to hide before pulling young Samwise Gamgee through the window and slamming him one the table. "Have you been ease dropping Samwise Gamgee" "I haven't been dropping no ease mister Gandalf sir, I was trimming the rose bushes" " at this hour I think not what did you hear" Gandalf presses " something about a dark lord his ring and the end of the world as we know it sir" Sam blabbers out in a rush not wanting to be turned into something unnatural.

Gandalf sets both young hobbits out together giving warnings to stay off the road and Sam was not to lose young Frodo at any cost whatsoever.
They both set out into the open fields of the shire to start their journey that will take them both very far from home.

They reach old Muddle's farm, "if I take one more step Mr.Frodo it'll be the farthest away from home I've every been" Sam whispers. Frodo chuckles bring up an old saying Bilbo used to tell them as children.
