Bard climbs the watch tower with his bow taking aim at the beast burning his home into the lake, when the dragon swoops taking the roof off the tower and snapping the wood part of his bow in half, when Bane appears under his father. "Bane what are you doing here" his father cries in worry, "I thought you might need this to kill the dragon" he holds up the last black arrow from sixty years ago. Bard hits the beast and they watch it all fall into the lake.

Reaching the shore Bard's daughters call out looking for while the other towns folk scrap up what they can from the wreckage that floats to shore. The dwarves start shoving their boat back into the water so that they can make it to the mountain and see is their company is alive.

The people of lake town gather what they can from the water and tend to the wounded and sick. Many women hand out blankets while men make hot food to help with the winter chill.

Bard is reunited with his daughters and the greasy Alfred weasels his way to the centre of the circle where the other people of lake town cheer for Bard and his slaying of the dragon. When he comes up that they must move to the city of Dale so that he may speak with Thorin for the gold they were promised.

The dwarves row across the lake to the mountain. The see the broken front gate and go running through the halls calling out for other members of their company. "UNCLE BALIN DWALIN" Fili and Kili scream at the top of their lungs when Bilbo comes zooming around the corner. "No we all have to leave. We can be here" Bilbo eyes are wide pushes the young princes away but Fili shoves him out of the way and runs into the treasury to find his uncle in kingly robes pacing back and forth between the gold.

The sounds of fast approaching feet draw the kings attention, Thorin looks up to meet the concerned eyes of his eldest nephew. "Welcome my sisters sons to the kingdom of Erebor" Thorin's voice sounded dark and unlike himself.

The dwarves seat them self at a dusty table talking in hushed voices to each other and hugging. When Kili speaks up, "hey has anyone seen Li? Where is she?" He asks looking around the room for someone who should be very easy to spot since she stood the tallest. "She makes herself scares around Thorin and the treasury, makes her uncomfortable. Turns her skin pale and sickly when she's too close" Balin answers him.

The dwarves are all put to work searching through the gold for the stone while Thorin's looks down on them with a cold calculating stare of a hawk thinking someone was going to steal from him while Hali roams the dwarves kingdoms halls so as to not have to look Throrin in the eyes and see something evil in his eyes. She finds a library and spends her time their reading dwarves history and teaching herself some of their own language to herself.

Several days pass when one evening she hears the clashing of stone on stone. She goes to look only to see Thorin making the group build back up the front gate to keep the people of lake town out of the dwarves hall even when he had promised them of a share of dwarves gold to rebuild their lives.

She watches Throin demand things like a tyrant. Once the gate is rebuilt the dwarves take turns standing sentinel on watch. Hali joins when Fili and Kili take their turning now just realizing they had made it back to the company.
She rushes up the steps before throwing herself a top the two of them. "I have missed you two I'm so glad your both alright" she says in a whispy tone and slightly out of breath. The brothers laugh at her with bright smiles on their lips as they hug her back just as fiercely.
The three of them stand watch before Hali breaks out into that song they had sung in Bilbo's home the night before they set out in this quest.

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons
If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night
Calling out for the rope
Stand by and we will
Watch the flames burn on and on
The mountain side, hey
And if we should die tonight
Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time
Calling out for the rope
Prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn on and on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky
Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
And I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
And I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me
Oh, should my people fall
Then surely I'll do the same
Confined in mountain halls
We got too close to the flame
Calling out for the rope
Hold fast and we will
Watch the flames burn on and on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky
Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
And I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
And I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me
And if the night is burning
I will cover my eyes
For if the dark returns
Then my brothers will die
And as the sky is falling down
It crashed into this lonely town
And with that shadow upon the ground
I hear my people screaming out
Now I see fire
Inside the mountains
I see fire
Burning the trees
I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
I see fire
Oh you know I saw a city burning out (fire)
And I see fire
Feel the heat upon my skin, yeah (fire)
And I see fire (fire)
And I see fire burn on and on the mountain side
