In the beginning the Creator made the universe in all of its magnificence and glory. The creator forged the world as he liked, according to how he saw fit, and on its completion felt it was good. Of all his creation there was but one that was special, more special than the rest, man. Human beings were made to be different, to be unique without comparison; they were more beautiful both inside and out, they could experience emotions and feelings, with minds more developed than other creatures to set them apart and they were perfect. They were, good.
The creator in his generosity also granted human beings something else, something more considerate more thoughtful, free will. The ability to make their own choices, do as they pleased. It was a great gift to mankind, possibly one of the greatest, more special than others.
In as much as this gift was great mankind was not great in perceiving and appreciating the concept of making choices themselves. Instead of choosing to be good, do right, some simply chose not to. It seemed they could not control themselves however much that ability was in their hands. They desecrated the Creators gift... Made a damn mockery of it. Maybe, just perhaps human kind was better of without free will.
Free will affected every aspect of a human's life. Love... Love was not spared; in fact it was gravely affected. Two souls that were merged from birth by the Fates themselves destined to be together, could not fully exist, without each other were torn apart. More often than not there was a lot of suffering, too much of it. The Fates had specifically made it so, made it that these souls should be together, that as long as they were separated they would never feel or be complete. For one to be without the other would be impossible. A bond so strong created for a simple purpose; to maintain the balance of life. Having orchestrated it to be so, the Fates were most angered.
The souls cried out in pain and anguish at being wrenched apart. In their anger the Fates gravely punished those responsible, creating havoc where they descended. This was but for a long while, they could not keep it up. The fear of punishment was no longer a motivation to do good. Evil and wickedness still prevailed in man continuing to reign. Instead they made a decision... A sensible decision. Soul mates would be given a second chance. A chance to end their suffering and misery; to fight for each other. The Fates possessed power in high magnitude that reincarnation was but a simple task. And being so powerful could make it so the balance of life and death was maintained. The two souls were given another chance to be together. To find each other in a different time, as different people. They could be together at last. A second chance is never easy though. It would take strong will and outright war. For the forces of the world would be against it.
