3: Kiase's Return
MAX'S POV
The Bokkenrijders were gaining on us. Their arrows were shooting into the car, and most were bouncing off, although some stuck firmly in the metal. Where the heck was Silas?
"Alright, do you think we can handle them our -" but I was cut off by a thunderous boom from behind us.
Silas was standing on a truck behind us. How he had gotten there, I had no idea. The Bokkenrijders whirled around the face him and started to shoot at him instead of us. Silas flung his hand up and a solid wall of...gold coins roared up in front of him, blocking the arrows. He then flicked his hand and the coins shot out, impaling the Bokkenrijders. One rider was taken out and his goat panicked, flying away in the other directions. Two other goats were killed, and their riders fell off, getting smshed by cars.
"What the heck was that. He's using money?" asked Kevin, who must have seen it in the rearview mirror.
"He must be a spriggan. The spriggans come from Cornwall tales and they're really ugly creatures who guard fairy gold mines. Silas must be a spriggan and he's using the gold from his hoard to attack them. They can also become giant and start small storms," Piper said.
"My god, you're a genius," Jack said dreamily.
A couple of the Bokkenrijders had dismounted from their goats, drawn their swords, and were walking across the truck's roof towards Silas. Silas flung a coin into the eye of the first one and the Bokkenrijder fell over onto the road. The other two backed up a couple steps, but Silas waved his hand and two blasts of lightning shot out of his hands and lanced right through the goat bandits. The Bokkenrijders keeled over and dropped, spraying blood everywhere.
"Pull back! Master Herne will hear of this!" said one of the Bokkenrijders.
All of the goat riders whirled their mounts and took off through the sky, dashing away at lightning speed to some unknown place. Silas then raised his hand and started to...shrink. He shrunk really fast, and after about 3 seconds, he was toally gone. Then there was a poof of green smoke from the top of the truck where he had disappeared. Another poof of green smoke came from the third row of seats in the van.
I looked back there, and saw Silas start to grow again, and finally the regular full-size man was sitting in the third row of the car, breathing hard and covered in sweat.
"Are you all alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, we're fine..." Jack said.
"Good. I think I have an inkling of what's going on here. Those Bokkenrijders said 'Master Herne will hear of this!' after I beat them. That means that they're working for Herne the Huntsman, a spirit who lives around here. Herne wouldn't have sent them to attack you without motivation...which means that Herne is working with this Watcher boy you all are hunting," Silas said.
"That's it! Watcher fled here to Cornwall, and Herne took him in. Herne has the Bokkenrijders working with him, and he can probably make contact with a horde of other monsters too. That means that as soon as possible, we need to find them and take them out. We can use the chateau as our base of operations. Er, but...we're still not sure what the prophecies mean," Kevin said.
"I'm sure that it will become clear as we go on. By the way, Kevin, that was the most words that I've ever heard you say at one time," Alice said. Kevin gave a deep bass laugh.
"Alright, let's do this!" Jack cried.

UNKNOWN POV
It had been a long time...such a long time, since anyone had called me. But someone was now...I didn't want to answer. I wanted to sleep...sleep as I had done for so many thousands of years...But I needed to answer. It was someone...someone I knew very well indeed.
I opened one of my massive eyelids. The effort was tremendous, and as I did so, pieces of stone and rock crumbled off of my face, spraying dust everywhere. The person was still calling me...it was Herne. Herne the Huntsman.
"What do you want, Herne..." I asked him in my mind. It would have taken me too much effort to speak normally.
"I need your assistance, my friend. I know that you have been asleep for a long time, but I ask for your aid in the name of friendship. There are five children...five DEMIGODS that are coming for me and my young charge...I need your help eliminating them," the Huntsman replied.
"You cna handle five demigods. Let me sleep," I replied.
"You don't understand. These demigods are powerful. They defeat Ouranos, Tlaloc, and Enlil all at the same time," Herne countered. A surge of fear went through me. All three of those gods at the same time...
"Alright...I'll gather my forces. I'm coming to your aid. Give me a few days and I'll be there. The humans will know the name Asag once more," I said, laughing a little in my mind.
"Thank you. There will be many tasty pieces of flesh awaiting you. I await your arrival."
